Angela "Ange" Humphries is an Australian politician. She has been a Labor Councillor on Parramatta City Council representing North Rocks Ward since the 2021 NSW Local Government Elections. [1] [2]
Before entering politics Humphries spent over 20 years in media,marketing,crisis management and public relations,and was a Guest Lecturer at Western Sydney University. [2]
In 2016,Humphries was the subject of a Sydney Morning Herald article when she travelled to the United States for the US Presidential Election to serve on the Clinton Campaign's Voter Protection Team in Tampa Florida. [3]
She also served on the board of Blacktown Workers Club,including serving the period from 2017 to 2023 as Club Director. [4]
On election night,Humphries was the first candidate to be declared election from the ward on the first count, [5] with 1.19 quotas, [6] the second highest Labor result in the history of the ward. Her election coincided with the first time Labor won an effective majority on the council since 2008. [7] It was also the first time Parramatta Council would be made up of a female majority,including in Humphries own ward of North Rocks where all three Councillors are women. [8]

Humphries was one of nine Councillors to vote against compelling then-Lord Mayor Donna Davis to resign her mayorship in light of her election to the NSW Legislative Assembly. [9]
When Davis resigned as Lord Mayor,Humphries was one of the seven Councillors to vote for Sameer Pandey to succeed her in an Extraordinary Council Meeting. [10]
In July 2023,Clr. Humphries rose to national prominence when she spearheaded the creation of baby haven boxes within Parramatta Council,a first time proposal in Australia. [11] The proposal followed the surrender of a baby in a backyard in neighbouring Blacktown in April that year. [12]
Clover Margaret Moore is an Australian politician.
