Anita Kyarimpa better known as Anita Fabiola is a Ugandan actress, tourism ambassador, Event host, business woman, and former beauty queen. [2] In February 2019 she was appointed as a Goodwill Tourism ambassador headlining the "Tulambule" campaign in liaison with the Uganda Tourism Board to promote tourism all over Uganda. [3] Prior to hosting the Be my date show on NTV in 2014, Fabiola became Miss Uganda West and the first runner-up in the overall Miss Uganda beauty pageant in 2013. [4] She is also known for hosting some of the Africa's biggest red carpet events. These include Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Awards in Nigeria (2016), Namibia Annual Music Awards (2016 and 2017), Ghana Movie Awards 2017, Ghana Music Awards 2016, [5] Glitz Awards Ghana 2017, Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards 2016 among others. Career

At the age of 12 she was a model at the Arapapa modelling agency. During this time, she did catwalks and commercials for Flair Magazin in 2008. [7] While in high school, Fabiola participated in the school's beauty pageants which earned her titles like, Miss London College, Miss St. Lawrence schools and colleges[ citation needed ]. This led her to participate in the nationwide, Miss High School Kadanke in 2012 which she won, making her the first "Miss Kadanke."[ citation needed ]

In 2013, Fabiola participated in the Miss Uganda beauty pageant and she was crowned Miss Uganda West and became the first runners-up in the overall Miss Uganda beauty pageant in 2013 [8]

Fabiola kick-started her career in television in 2014 by hosting and producing the Be my date show on NTV which aired out every Sunday at 8 pm. In 2014 the show was voted the most watched entertainment television programme in Uganda. [9] As a result, the show's success, Fabiola received nominations and eventually won the 2015 Buzz Teeniez Awards for the Best Female TV personality[ citation needed ].

In 2015, Fabiola had a short time working as a presenter on Capital FM every Mon-Friday on the Big Breakfast from 6 am to 10 am.[ citation needed ]

As an actress, Fabiola is best known for her role as Angella in NTV's remake of the telenovela drama series, Second Chance that was released in October 2016 on the same station. However, due to a very busy schedule, she left the show to pursue other lucrative business interests across the globe. Fabiola also played a supporting role in the 2015 series Studio 256 also on NTV. [10] She also starred in the 2013 Bollywood Malayalam thriller, Escape from Uganda as Oldra.[ citation needed ]

Fabiola is currently the host of the live hit Music and entertainment show, "Katch Up" that airs every Friday on NBS TV. [11]

Fabiola has also hosted a number of events on the Ugandan entertainment scene including Hip Hop Awards 2016, Uganda Entertainment Awards 2017, Miss Uganda 2016, Tekno and MR. Eazi concert, Belaire launch among others.[ citation needed ]

In 2018, became the first Ugandan to be invited to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and also walked the red carpet at the celebrity filled event. [12]

She also launched her weekly podcast, "The Fabiola Podcast" on Afripods, an online channel and App from Sweden. After this, she became the first Ugandan media personality to own and host her own podcast. [13]

In February 2019, she was unveiled as a Tourism ambassador involved in the "Tulambule", a tourism campaign aimed at promoting local tourism in Uganda. [14] Together with a team of fellow celebrity ambassadors that included Salvador (Patrick Idringi), Gaetano Kaggwa, Marcus Kwikiriza and  kickboxer Moses Golola, the team traversed various parts of the country exploring not just the panoramic landscape [15] but also different unique Cultures and traditions while encouraging fellow Ugandans to do the same. Fabiola's successful career has attracted several brands that she has endorsed. She has been the brand ambassador for several brands like, CAT footwear, [17] Paramour Cosmetics, Lux Belaire, Virginia Black MTN Pulse, Jumia Uganda, Lauma Uganda among others. [18]

Philanthropy

Fabiola founded the Fab Girls Foundation with the goal of empowering young girls through providing services like basic education, sanitation, creating HIV/AIDS awareness among others. At the start of 2019, she launched a campaign, selling her custom designed calendars in a bid to raise money for her charity. [19] [20]

Personal life

Fabiola married Mark Ronald Mukiibi in a private traditional marriage ceremony known as okugamba obugyenyi in 2022 after his proposal in 2021 in the Maldives. [21] [22]

The Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards 2016 is the fourth edition of the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards and it was held on 9 December 2016 at the Kampala Serena Hotel under the theme Dress to Inspire. Vimbai Mutinhiri and Idris Sultan hosted the awarding event while Hellen Lukoma and Zimbabwe's Tinashe Venge hosted the red carpet event.

Stellah Nantumbwe also Stella Nantumbwe commonly known as Ellah is a Ugandan actress, media personality and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Uganda 2013. She was Uganda's representative to the Big Brother Africa, in 2014.

Quiin Abenakyo is a Ugandan model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Uganda 2018. She represented Uganda at Miss World 2018 in China and was crowned Miss World Africa 2018. At the Miss World 2018 contest, Abenakyo was a winner in the head to head challenge portion of the contest, and she placed in the Top 5 overall. She is the first Ugandan to place this high in this annual pageant.

Zahara Nakiyaga, also Zahra Nakiyaga is a beauty pageant contestant who was crowned Miss Uganda 2015 at the age of 23 years. She represented Uganda in Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China, in December 2015.

Bed of Thorns (#Tosirika) is a Ugandan, all-female crew produced drama film directed and produced by Eleanor Nabwiso under the Nabwiso Films banner. Patrick Idringi, known as Patrick Salvado, is a Ugandan comedian, actor, master of ceremonies, radio personality and engineer. He is also known as "The Arrogant Man". He was first runner up in the MultiChoice Africa organised comedy competition, Standup Uganda in 2009. He reached the semi-finals of the World's Funniest Person competition in 2016 and was nominated in 2017 and 2018 in the Savannah Comic Choice Awards as the Pan African Comic of the Year. He is also quite known for his sheer arrogance and hypocrisy

Kyaddala is a Ugandan drama television series by Reach a Hand Uganda. The first season was produced by Emmanuel Ikubese Films and Reach a Hand Uganda. Set in a present day high school life, Kyaddala a Luganda word for "It's Real", focuses on real life social issues that affect young people across Africa and their attempts to overcome those issues. The series features actors and actresses from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria. Kyaddala premiered on 27 September 2019 at Kingdom Kampala.

Fun Factory Uganda is a Ugandan entertainment company based in Kampala. It was founded in 2010, with its flagship product being sketch comedy. It also has branched into television shows and event management. FFU's cast are trained at Makerere University School of Liberal and Performing Arts. Their products include Comedicine, U-Turn, and Mizigo Express.

Malaika Tenshi Nnyanzi professionally known by her mononym as Malaika is a Ugandan actress, media personality, model and fashionista. She is mostly known for her radio work on the D’Mighty Breakfast show on KFM and Malaika and Oulanya on Capital Fm as well as her acting work on Veronica's Wish, Bed of Thorns, The Honourables and Mela.

Kampala Boy is the first studio album by Ugandan musician Flex D'Paper, released on 10 December 2021. The album features guest appearances from Swae Lee on the intro and songs with Navio, Fik Fameica, A Pass, Keko, Shena skies, Wake the Poet, Mozelo Kidz, Kemishan, Lagum the rapper. Doreen Kabareebe is a Ugandan fashion model, socialite, branding coach and social media influencer. She was one of the contestants in the Miss Uganda beauty pageant in 2010.

Joram Muzira alias Muzira Joram Job(born in 1987) is a Ugandan Fashion entrepreneur, model scout and coach, show director, voice over artist, and a TV personality. He founded JMM that signed international models that include Aamito stacie Lagum and Patricia Akello.

Kyeru Phiona Bridget is a Ugandan beauty queen and former miss tourism Uganda. She was born on September 27, 1997, in Iganga, Busoga region, Uganda. She was crowned miss tourism Uganda 2019 on October 4, 2019.
