Anita Zucker (nee Goldberg, born 1951/1952) is an American businesswoman and philanthropist. She was the chair at the Hudson's Bay Company. Taking over after her husband's death, she is the chairperson and former chief executive officer (CEO) of The Intertech Group.
Born Anita Goldberg, [2] she is the daughter of Holocaust survivors, Rose and Carl Goldberg. [3] [4] She graduated from the University of Florida and received a Master of Arts from the University of North Florida. [1]
After moving with her husband Jerry to the Charleston area in 1978, the couple launched InterTech in 1982. [5]
She is the widow of Jerry Zucker, and took over his role as chairman and chief executive officer of the Intertech Group following his death in 2008 from a brain tumor. [5] [6]
She owns the Carolina Ice Palace and is part owner of the South Carolina Stingrays ice hockey team. [7]
As of February 2023, she is the 1,600th richest person in the world (up from 1,729th in 2022), with an estimated wealth of US $1.9 billion. [8] She has three children: Jonathan Zucker, Andrea Muzin and Jeffrey Zucker. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina.
Zucker is a member of the Republican Party, and she endorsed Mitt Romney in January 2012. [1] A financial supporter of Lindsey Graham, she was a co-chair in South Carolina of Jeb Bush's campaign for the Republican party nomination in South Carolina in 2016. [9]
Zucker is part of the Coastal Community Foundation and Trident United Way, and is a trustee of the Saul Alexander Foundation and the Jewish Endowment Fund. [10] She has served on the boards of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, the MUSC Foundation, and Porter-Gaud School. [10]
In November 2014, she donated $4 million to The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina for education programs. In return, The Citadel named its School of Education after the Zucker family, the first of The Citadel's five schools to be named after a major donor. [11]

The South Carolina Stingrays are a professional minor league ice hockey team based in North Charleston, South Carolina. The Stingrays play in the South Division of the ECHL's Eastern Conference. They play their home games at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Carolina Ice Palace, also located in North Charleston, serves as a practice facility and backup arena. Established in 1993, the team has been owned by a group of local businesses since 1995. The team was affiliated with the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League from 2004 to July 2012, when the Capitals announced their affiliation with the ECHL's Reading Royals. On June 26, 2014, the Washington Capitals announced an affiliation agreement with the Stingrays for the 2014–15 season.
The Citadel Military College of South Carolina is a public senior military college in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina Inc. is a public 501(c)(3) charity as classified by the US Internal Revenue Service. Since 2006 it has grown to be the largest grant-making entity in South Carolina serving donors and nonprofits in nine counties of the Lowcountry region. On June 1, 2018, The Citadel announced the naming of the school for the Swain Family, in recognition of major gifts provided by brothers David C. The Citadel–Wofford football rivalry is an American college football rivalry game played by The Citadel Bulldogs football team of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and the Wofford Terriers football team of Wofford College. The Citadel is located in Charleston, South Carolina, while Wofford is located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The schools were two of the last colleges in the United States to integrate women into their respective student bodies, with Wofford admitting women in 1976 and The Citadel in 1996.
