It began airing on December 23, 2018 on Sat.1, but after the second season the producers and the tv channel cancelled the show, due to low ratings.
The ninth season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on September 12, 2019 on ProSieben and on September 15, 2019 on Sat.1. The coaches were the singer and songwriter Mark Forster returning for his third season, while songwriter and singer Rea Garvey, who last coached in the fifth season returned alongside new coaches, pop musician Alice Merton and rapper Sido, who replaced Michi & Smudo, Yvonne Catterfeld and Michael Patrick Kelly. The role of fifth coach belonged to Michael Schulte, who selected contestants to participate in The Voice: Comeback Stage by SEAT. Thore Schölermann returned for his ninth season as host. Lena Gercke also returned for her sixth season as host, but she was only in the live shows phase, due to her pregnancy. Annemarie Carpendale replaced Gercke in the others stages of the show.

The twelfth season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on 18 August 2022. The show was broadcast by two local TV stations, ProSieben and Sat.1, during the Blind Auditions and the Battles. The rest episodes of the season were broadcast by Sat.1 only.
"Run with me" is a song recorded by English singer Calum Scott and included in his second studio album Bridgers. Scott re-recorded the song with Anny Ogrezeanu, the winner of the twelfth season of The Voice of Germany in 2022 and it was released as single on 4 November 2022. The song peaked at number 90 in Germany the following week.
