Anny Ogrezeanu

Anny Ogrezeanu (born 24 February 2001 in Bonn) is a German-Romanian singer who won the twelfth season of The Voice of Germany in 2022. [1]

Life

Anny Ogrezeanu grew up in Wachtberg near Bonn. [2] Ogrezeanu identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. [3]

Ogrezeanu is a volunteer in Ahr Valley which was severely damaged in the flood of 2021. [4]

Career

In 2022, Ogrezeanu auditioned for the talent show The Voice of Germany . In the blind auditions they performed "I Will Always Love You" and chose Mark Forster as their coach. In the next phase, the "battles", Ogrezeanu sang "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" and together with their battle partner they performed the famous Dirty Dancing lift. They continued on to the next round, the sing-offs, where they sang Emeli Sandé's "Clown". In the semi-finals Ogrezeanu delivered their version of "Not About Angels" by Birdy and was chosen (with a majority of 65.4%) by the audience to represent Forster's team in the finals. [5] In the finals, Ogrezeanu performed "Friday I'm in Love" with their coach Forster and "Daddy's Eyes" with Zoe Wees. In the overall voting Ogrezeanu won The Voice of Germany with 41.61%. [6] Upon winning the show Ogrezeanu performed and released a duet version of "Run with Me" with Calum Scott. [7]

The Voice Senior was a German reality talent show created by John de Mol, based on the concept The Voice of Germany. However, participation is only open for candidates more than 60 years old. It began airing on December 23, 2018 on Sat.1, but after the second season the producers and the tv channel cancelled the show, due to low ratings.

The ninth season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on September 12, 2019 on ProSieben and on September 15, 2019 on Sat.1. The coaches were the singer and songwriter Mark Forster returning for his third season, while songwriter and singer Rea Garvey, who last coached in the fifth season returned alongside new coaches, pop musician Alice Merton and rapper Sido, who replaced Michi & Smudo, Yvonne Catterfeld and Michael Patrick Kelly. The tenth season, also known as the anniversary season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on October 8, 2020 on ProSieben and on October 11, 2020 on Sat.1. Mark Forster returned as coach for his fourth season and Rea Garvey returned for his sixth season, but this time paired up as a duo with Samu Haber, who returned for his fifth season; Haber last coached in the seventh season. Yvonne Catterfeld and Stefanie Kloß, who last coached in the eighth season and in the fifth season, respectively, returned as coaches and as a duo. In the last season Nico Santos was featured as an off-screen fifth coach for Comeback Stage contestants; this season he returned as a main coach in the red chair. The eleventh season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on October 7, 2021 on ProSieben and on October 10, 2021 on Sat.1. Both singers and songwriters Mark Forster and Nico Santos returned as coaches for their fifth and second seasons, respectively, and two new coaches joined: singers and songwriters Johannes Oerding, and Sarah Connor, who replaced Samu Haber & Rea Garvey, and Stefanie Kloss & Yvonne Catterfeld. Elif Demirezer was the new "Comeback Stage" coach, who selected contestants to participate in The Voice: Comeback Stage by SEAT, replacing Michael Schulte. Thore Schölermann and Lena Gercke returned as hosts for their tenth and seventh seasons, respectively.

The twelfth season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on 18 August 2022. The show was broadcast by two local TV stations, ProSieben and Sat.1, during the Blind Auditions and the Battles. The rest episodes of the season were broadcast by Sat.1 only.

"Run with me" is a song recorded by English singer Calum Scott and included in his second studio album Bridgers. Scott re-recorded the song with Anny Ogrezeanu, the winner of the twelfth season of The Voice of Germany in 2022 and it was released as single on 4 November 2022. The song peaked at number 90 in Germany the following week.
