Anthony Pappa (born 15 November 1973) is an Australian DJ and electronic music producer from Melbourne.

Early life

Pappa was born in Italy but was raised in Melbourne, Australia where he attended Marcellin College. At the age of four he got his first drum which inspired him to become a producer later in life. [1]

Career

Pappa started DJ career at the age of 13. He won Australia's DMC DJ championship at the age of 15, and by the age of 21 was playing for most prolific clubs. [2] After meeting Sasha and John Digweed during an Australian tour, he decided to move to Great Britain to further pursue a DJ career. [3]

He appeared on the List of DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs each year between 1997 [4] and 2003. [5] Pappa played at the I Love Techno music festival in France. In 2008, he played at the SAMC (South American Music Conference). [6] In 2000, he was on the cover of DJ Mag.

He has released mix compilations on labels including Platipus Records, [3] System Recordings, EQ's Balance, [7] and most notably on Boxed's Renaissance, Global Underground and NuBreed series. [2] He also did mixes for the Nina Kraviz’s song "I’m Gonna Get You", before founding his own music label Red Light District in 2008. [8]

In 1998, Pappa teamed up with Alan Bremner under the name Freefall to produce the one off trance classic "Skydive", featuring Jan Johnston on vocals. The song has since been remixed more than ten times. He has also remixed tracks for Chicane including a bootleg of Offshore that was officially released and charted at #17 in the UK. [9]

During the 2004 tour, Pappa performed at Womb nightclub in Tokyo, Japan and then performed at Zouk in Kuala Lampur. He also performed at the various clubs in Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore. [10]

In 2018 he teamed up with Gab Oliver of Narcotik, as well as working on a new single with Quivver. [2]

In 2019, Pappa performed at the Circus Paradise Arts and Music Festival [11] and on 30 March of the same year, he played at LaDiDa. [12]

Alain Macklovitch, known by his stage name A-Trak, is a Canadian DJ, turntablist, record producer, and record label executive. He came to prominence in the late 2000s as an international club DJ and remix artist, known for incorporating highly technical turntable skills and scratching into his genre-spanning work. He is also President of the record label Fool's Gold, which was founded in 2007 and is credited for developing the careers of artists such as Kid Cudi, Danny Brown, and Flosstradamus. Swedish House Mafia Swedish Supergroup

Swedish House Mafia (SHM) is a Swedish house music supergroup consisting of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group officially formed in late 2008, were placed at number ten on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Poll 2011, and have been called "the faces of mainstream progressive house music", while being credited for "setting the tone for the EDM boom of the early 2010s, more than any other act in modern dance music". In 2012, they were ranked at number twelve on the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll. The group's biggest hit to date is "Don't You Worry Child". On 24 June 2012, the group announced they would split up. Their final performance was at Ultra Miami on 24 March 2013. For the next five years Angello worked solo, while Axwell and Ingrosso performed as the duo, Axwell & Ingrosso. On 25 March 2018, the group reunited with a surprise closing set at the 20th anniversary of Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida. The group will release their debut studio album, Paradise Again, in late 2021, through their new label, Republic.

Reggae is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. Australia has several bands and sound systems that play reggae music in a style faithful to its expression in Jamaica. Australia has a relatively small Jamaican community, but reggae penetrated local consciousness via the popularity of reggae among the non-Jamaican population of England in the 1960s and 1970s. Axel Christofer Hedfors, better known by his stage name Axwell, is a Swedish DJ, record producer, remixer and owner of Axtone Records. He is a member of Swedish House Mafia along with Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello. He is a two time DJ Awards winner and in 2013 he was placed 19th on the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ Poll. The Martinez Brothers

The Martinez Brothers are an American duo of disc jockeys, music producers, and remixers from The Bronx, New York. Known for their long-term residencies at clubs in Ibiza. In 2014 they were named as DJs of the year by Mixmag, who wrote that "no other DJ or DJ duo encapsulates house music in 2014 like the crown princes of DC10."

Jordy van Egmond, known professionally as Dyro, is a Dutch DJ and EDM producer. Since 2010 he has released original singles and remixes on labels such as Revealed Recordings, Musical Freedom, and Def Jam, and has also released official remixes for tracks such as "Right Now" by Rihanna and "Iron" by Nicky Romero and Calvin Harris. He collaborated with Tiësto on a single titled "Paradise" in 2013, and also that year he collaborated with Hardwell on the single "Never Say Goodbye". Featuring Bright Lights, it peaked at No. 23 on the UK Dance Chart. In 2014 Dyro ranked No. 27 on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list.
