Anugerah Industri Muzik Malaysian-Indian or Malaysian Music Industry Award for Malaysian Indian (acronym known as AIM Malaysian-Indian) is the Malaysian music award ceremony to pay tribute and award the key industry player within Malaysian Indian community who have been working hard to keep the local music industry of Malaysia alive. [1] The inaugural AIM Malaysian-Indian music awards show, sponsored by the Ministry of Information, Communications & Culture (MICC). It is one of the three AIM award events, recognise and honouring Malaysian based talents. The other two were Anugerah Industri Muzik for Bahasa Malaysia and AIM Malaysian-Chinese.

History

Before introducing AIM Malaysian-Indian, there were special categories for Malaysian Indian Music industry in Anugerah Industri Muzik, Best Local Indian Album and Best Local Indian Song.

However, Malaysian Indian Music Awards had been once held in 1999, but by a different presenter. [2]

AIM 2013

AIM Malaysian-Indian 2013 was held in Setia City Conventions Center, Shah Alam on 12 October 2013. This annual award was spearheaded by the AIM-Indian 2013 Organizing Chairman, Suseela Menon.

Raihan is a Malaysian nasheed group originally composed of five members that became popular in Malaysia with the release of their debut album Puji-Pujian in October 1996. The group's original line-up comprised Nazrey Johani, Che Amran Idris, Abu Bakar Md Yatim, Amran Ibrahim, and Azhari Ahmad as the leader. Produced by Farihin Abdul Fattah, Puji-Pujian grossed sales of more than 750,000 units in Malaysia alone, with 200,000 units sold within the first two months after its launch, and 3,500,000 units have been sold worldwide, which makes them the most successful Malaysian artist in terms of album sales.

Ning Baizura Malaysian pop, R&B singer and actress

Ning Baizura binti Sheikh Hamzah, better known by her stage name Ning Baizura, is a Malaysian pop and R&B singer, actress who sings in Malay, English, Japanese, Italian, French, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Anugerah Industri Muzik, commonly known by the acronym AIM, is an award ceremony which celebrates the Malaysian music industry. The award is organized by the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) and was first held on 15 December 1993. It is Malaysia's equivalent of the Grammy awards. The award is not only focused on Malay-language music produced in Malaysia, but also English, Chinese, and Indian-language music. Separate awards were introduced for the latter two language music subcategories in 1999 and 2013 respectively. Hiresh Haridas, better known by his stage name Reshmonu, is a singer-songwriter from Malaysia who does mostly English songs. He is known for songs such as "Walk Away", "Cintaku Pergi", "Hey Waley" and "Superfine". He is of Malayali descent. In July 2015, he rebranded himself as just Resh, claiming that "Reshmonu" was a part of his "coming-of-age" process.

<i>Siti Nurhaliza I</i> 1996 studio album by Siti Nurhaliza

Siti Nurhaliza is the debut album by Malaysian singer Siti Nurhaliza released in 1996. This album is the debut of her after winning in a singing competition by RTM, Bintang HMI 1995, where she recorded in 1996. The album is self-titled, and composed almost entirely of pop and ballad genre with its famous debut single Jerat Percintaan which later won the 11th Anugerah Juara Lagu in the same year and sold more than 50,000 copies. She won the title during her first entrance to Anugerah Juara Lagu by beating favourites at that time, Ziana Zain and Fauziah Latiff.

Jaclyn Victor Malaysian singer

Jaclyn Joshua Thanaraj Victor is a Malaysian singer, songwriter and actress who won the inaugural Malaysian Idol and Ikon Malaysia. As the winner of Malaysian Idol, she won a recording contract with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. She represented Malaysia in the first Asian Idol and Ikon Asean. She has been dubbed "Asia's Divette" for her vocal prowess and a legend in Malaysia.

Estranged (band)

Estranged is a Malaysian alternative rock band that formed in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur in 2001. Currently comprising vocalist Rich Gimbang, lead guitarist Nor Hanafi and rhythm guitarist Din Hormatov, the band have released three full-length albums: In Hating Memory (2004), Remain Unknown (2008), Anugerah Hidup (2013) and an extended play (EP): Sepenuhnya Vol. 1 (2016). The band also have released a song called "Odoi" in 2018.

Bunkface Malaysian rock band

Bunkface is a Malaysian rock band from Malaysia formed in 2006. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Sam , bass guitarist Youk , and lead guitarist Paan .The name Bunkface was suggested by Biak which was influenced from the Sum 41 song titled "Crazy Amanda Bunkface". Popular songs by Bunkface include Silly Lily, Situasi, Revolusi, Prom Queen, Through My Window, Ekstravaganza, Rentak Laguku, Malam Ini Kita Punya, Darah Muda and Masih Di Sini. Their fanbase are called "Bunkers".

Anugerah Planet Muzik, commonly known by the acronym APM, is a Singaporean award ceremony for artists engaged in the music industries of the Malay-speaking region in Southeast Asia ; the awards nominate singers from countries within said region which are Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Hujan is a Malaysian indie rock band formed in Kuala Lumpur, in 2005. It was founded by vocalist Noh Salleh and lead guitarist AG Coco. Fans of Hujan are dubbed as Raingers, as the band's name translates to rain in Malay. Despite the lack of love from certain quarters at early stage of the band, Hujan has had some of the most successful breakthrough music in Malaysia.
