Anyways is an EP by The Starting Line, and is the band's first release containing new material since 2007. [1] The record was produced by Will Yip.
On December 14, 2015, The Starting Line announced the release date and cover art for Anyways. Pre-orders were made available on the same day through the band's official website. [2] The release date was originally scheduled for February 5, 2016, but was postponed until February 19, 2016 due to vinyl pressing issues. [3] The first single, titled "Anyways", was released on December 17, 2015, and the band released an official music video for the track on February 2, 2016. [4] The EP is available exclusively on 7-inch vinyl and through digital media outlets.
When profiled by Philly Voice, frontman Kenny Vasoli revealed a little about the direction of the new material. "It's still punk rock," he said, speaking on the band’s long-awaited release. "We're always going to sound like The Starting Line. I feel like I've stepped back far enough that I can really identify with what I liked about pop-punk and what I appreciate about it now." [5] [6]

The group's label Drive-Thru Records had a distribution deal which allowed MCA Records to acquire their bands. After MCA Records was absorbed into Geffen Records in mid-2003, the band spent most of 2004 writing and demoing songs for their next album. Following pre-production in July 2004, the band began recording for Based on a True Story, finishing in September. The album was recorded at various studios in New York state and California. Separate sessions were produced by Tim O'Heir, Howard Benson and Eric Rachel.

Neck Deep are a Welsh pop punk band from Wrexham, Wales formed in 2012. Founded after vocalist Ben Barlow met former lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts, the pair posted a song online under the name Neck Deep. The song soon gained attention online, resulting in the addition of rhythm guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington/Abasi, and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans. They released a pair of EPs, Rain in July (2012) and A History of Bad Decisions (2013), both recorded by Barlow's older brother, before signing with Hopeless in August 2013.

SWMRS, pronounced 'swimmers', was an American punk rock band formed in Piedmont, California in 2004 by Cole Becker and Joey Armstrong, with Becker's brother Max Becker joining only a few weeks afterwards. They drew on a mix of influences ranging from the Beach Boys to the Ramones to create their own brand of rock. The band added Travis Neumann in 2009, who later left in 2014 due to creative differences. The band released a demo and a string of EPs from 2008 to 2010. The band released their first album, Don't Be a Dick, on June 14, 2011. The band's second album, Lost at Seventeen, was released on June 11, 2013. They added Sebastian Mueller as the bassist in 2014. The band's third studio album, and their first under the name SWMRS after dropping their former name, Drive North, was released February 12, 2016, via Uncool Records. Drive North was later re-released after the band was signed to record label Fueled by Ramen on October 13, 2016.
