Aphrissa fluminensis, the Rio de Janeiro sulphur, is a butterfly in the family Pieridae. It is found in Costa Rica, Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Amazonas), and Peru. [1]

The sixth edition of the South American Championship was scheduled to be held in Chile, but Brazil asked to host it as part of its 100th anniversary independence celebrations. Thus it was held in Rio de Janeiro between 17 September and 6 November 1922.

While at the University of Coimbra in Portugal in the 1790s he worked with Martim Francisco Ribeiro de Andrada in translating works on mineralogy and agriculture. The standard author abbreviation Vell. is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.

It is a terrestrial sebecid, however also adopted to a semi-aquatic lifestyle to some degree, most probably coexisting with the semi-aquatic alligatorid Eocaiman itaboraiensis.
Condylocarpon isthmicum is a species of plant in the Apocynaceae family. It is native to Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. José Mariano de Conceição Vellozo, the botanist who first formally described the species, named it after the narrow neck connecting the two sections of its fruit.
