Apostol Trpeski (Macedonian : Aпостол Трпески, 6 September 1948) is a Macedonian cinematographer.

Biography

Trpeski was born on 6 September 1948, in Tetovo, SFR Yugoslavia (today North Macedonia). He graduated from the Academy for theater, film and television art – Cinematography Department at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. [1]

Career background

From 1971 until 1992, he worked at the Macedonian National Television as a cinematographer and director of photography. He shot many series and TV shows of different genres, made about a hundred reportages, many documentary films and TV movies and about a hundred more music shows, series and music and commercial videos, using all kinds of technologies.

Since 1992, he has been working as a professor and Head of the Film and TV Camera Department at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje. He was vice-dean of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts for ten years. [2]

He is a member of the Macedonian Film Professionals Association [3] and a member of the Council of the International Cinematographers Film Festival "Manaki brothers". He was a member of the Senate of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and of the Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Macedonia. He was chairman of the board of the Macedonian Film Fund. [4]

He is the author of the book Film and TV camera, book 1 - basis of the cinematography techniques (2000).

He has been awarded many prizes for his work.

Highly respected for introducing modern themes and genres in the age of socialist and patriotic realism, introducing the new creative approach with his first feature films, the short film "Puppets` Rebellion" (1957), and especially with the modern comedy "Peaceful Summer" (1961), a film keeping its charm and freshness up to date. One of the founders, the first dean, and a professor in the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of the St.st. Cyrillus and Methodius University of Skopje. Dimitrie Osmanli was given a Macedonian Ministry of Culture award for his doyen contributions to the country's film industry. He was born in Bitola and lived in Skopje, and working in his country and abroad.

Koce Trajanovski is a Macedonian politician. He is a member of the opposition party VMRO-DPMNE. He served as the Mayor of Skopje from 2009 to 2017. Before he was the mayor of Skopje, he was a Member of Parliament and mayor of the Gazi Baba Municipality. He was born in 1956 in Skopje. He studied at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and graduated in 1980. In 1981, he started work at MTZ – Hepos where he was in charge of the computer management area. After that, he opened his own private computer software firm and closed that firm after 2 years of unsuccessfully managing that business. Following that, he decided that politics are more profitable.
