Apratim Majumdar (born 1978), is an Indian classical sarod player from Kolkata, India. His style is the "Dhrupadiya Veenkar" style of Alauddin Khan's Seni Beenkar Gharana.

Tutelage

He was tutored by Rabin Ghosh, disciple of Alauddin Khan, for over nineteen years. Apratim also received training for a period of three years from Partho Sarothy, disciple of Dhyanesh Khan and Ravi Shankar. [1]

Presently he is training under Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, a student of Ravi Shankar. [2]

Apratim has performed at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) - Mumbai, Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan - Mumbai, Vasantrao Chandorkar Smriti Pratisthan - Jalgaon, Kal Ke Kalakar Sangeet Sammelan - Mumbai, Indian Classical Music Young Talents' Conference - Kolkata, Swar-Sadhana Samiti - Mumbai, Uttarpara Sangeet Chakra Annual Music Conference (Kolkata), and India International Center (Delhi). Awards and achievements

He was awarded prizes by West Bengal State Music Akademi and The Dover Lane Music conference in the year 2000. He received the prestigious "Sur Mani" title by the Sur Singar Samsad Mumbai. [1]

In addition to that he started taking further training from Vidushi Kalyani Roy, a reputed sitarist and one of the few disciples of Ustad Vilayat Khan. He also had lessons in vocal music from late Muktipada Datta, a representative of Agra Gharana. Anjan also learned tabla under the late Ustad Shaukat Ali Khan of Farukhabad gharana. Anjan lives in Calcutta.

Annapurna Devi was an Indian surbahar player of Hindustani classical music. She was given the name 'Annapurna' by former Maharaja Brijnath Singh of the former Maihar Estate (M.P.), and it was by this name that she was popularly known. She was the daughter and disciple of Allauddin Khan, the founder of Maihar gharana, and Madina Bibi and the first wife of the sitar player Ravi Shankar. After her separation from Ravi Shankar, she moved to Bombay and never performed again in public. She remained a private person, yet continued to teach music for free. Her students include many notable disciples including Hariprasad Chaurasia, Nityanand Haldipur and Nikhil Banerjee.

Jitendra Abhisheki Indian singer and composer

Ganesh Balawant Nawathe, better known as Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, was an Indian vocalist, composer and scholar of Indian classical, semi-classical, and devotional music. While he distinguished himself in Hindustani music, he is also credited for the revival of the Marathi musical theatre in the 1960s. Jitendra Abhisheki has been praised as being "among the stalwarts of Hindustani classical music who mastered other musical forms such as thumri, tappa, bhajan, and bhavgeet. His work in Marathi natyasangeet is well-known."

Sunanda Nair is an Indian dancer trained in Mohiniattam. She did her master's degree in this dance form from Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya affiliated to the University of Mumbai. She has completed her PhD from University of Mumbai for her thesis "Intrinsic Lyrical Feminism in Mohiniattam". She was born in Mumbai, India.
