Archan Nair is a visual artist, and illustrator based in Berlin, Germany. [1] Known for his specialisation in digital art and mixed media, some of Archan's clients include brands like Sony, Netflix, GQ, Htc, Samsung, Electric Forest, Red Bull, Adobe, Nike among many others.

Early life

Archan Nair was born and raised in India. Formerly a fashion major and entrepreneur, Archan started painting in 2006 at the age of 24 and made the shift as an independent artist in 2007. [1] [2] Archan started his journey as a Digital Artist and Illustrator in the early 2000s right at the beginning of Digital Art, and later moved to Germany.

Archan began painting in 2006 at the age of 24 and started his career as an independent artist in 2007. Since then, he has collaborated with various brands around the globe. Some of Archan's clients include Sony, Nike, Red Bull, General Motors, Dodge, Microsoft, GQ, Vogue, Infiniti, Logitech, Netflix, Adobe etc. [3] Archan has been featured in various publications including VICE, Vogue, Times of India, Computer Arts, Digital Arts, Advanced Photoshop, GQ, BAK, Vanity Fair, among many others and has achieved recognition from music artists such as Kanye West. He has also done collaborations with celebrity artists like Chris Brown, Lindsay Lohan and Justine Bateman. [4] [5] [6] He also likes to work with different music bands and in an interview with RollingStone he said "Most of the time, the musician gives me a freehand and creative freedom to do anything I would like, which I love, as I love translating the sonic vibrations into visuals. Sometimes, they do give a small brief on some of the elements they would like and leave the rest to me.” [7]

Nike

In 2011, Archan created a series of five visuals for the ICC Cricket World Cup Nike campaign. The visual artworks were printed on T-shirts and were available as a limited edition series in stores Across Asia and selected countries. [8] In 2012, Nike curated an exhibition where Archan created 2 massive Artworks among other known artists and designers from across the globe. [9]

Sony

In 2013, Sony collaborated with Archan to create a visual artwork on their flagship mobile device the Xperia Z Ultra. An exclusive film was made on the process and Archan's story behind the creation of the artwork. The visual was also printed as limited edition signed posters. [10] [11]

Philantrophy

In 2022, Archan was selected to be part of the Christie's and MAPS initiative Cartography of the Mind, a curated NFT charity auction together with 26 other digital artists. The auction takes place from 21st to 28th June 2022. [12]

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a financial security consisting of digital data stored in a blockchain, a form of distributed ledger. The ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain, and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded. NFTs can be created by anybody, and require few or no coding skills to create. NFTs typically contain references to digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. Because NFTs are uniquely identifiable, they differ from cryptocurrencies, which are fungible. The market value of an NFT is associated with the digital file it references.

Dangiuz Contemporary Italian artist

Mike Winkelmann American digital artist

Michael Joseph Winkelmann, known professionally as Beeple, is an American digital artist, graphic designer, and animator known for selling NFTs. In his art, he uses various mediums to create comical, phantasmagoric works that make political and social commentary while using pop culture figures as references. British auction house Christie's has called him "A visionary digital artist at the forefront of NFTs". Beeple was first introduced to NFTs in October 2020 and credits Pak for providing his first "primer" on selling NFTs. The NFT associated with Everydays: the First 5000 Days, a collage of images from his "Everydays" series, was sold on March 12, 2021 for $69 million in cryptocurrency to an investor in NFTs. It is the first purely non-fungible token to be sold by Christie's. The auction house had previously sold Block 21, an NFT with accompanying physical painting for approximately $130,000 in October 2020.

The work is a collage of 5000 digital images created by Winkelmann for his Everydays series. Its associated non-fungible token (NFT) was sold for $69.3 million at Christie's in 2021, making it first on the List of most expensive non-fungible tokens.

Pak (creator) Digital artist

Pak, formerly known as Murat Pak, is a digital artist, cryptocurrency investor, and programmer. The identity of Pak is unknown and some speculate that it may be a team. Pak is known for creating the curation platform Archillect, an internet bot which reshares media based on user interactions with content hosted on various social platforms and for launching a platform for burning NFTs to receive tokens of the cryptocurrency Ash.
