Archana Jois is an Indian actress who appears in Kannada films. Jois is known for her role as Shanthamma, Rocky's mother in K.G.F film series. [2] [3] [4]

Career

She is one of the few Indian actresses to take up mother roles at a young age. [6] [7] Her dialogue in the first film - ninna hinde savra jana nintidaare anno dhairya ninagidre bari ond yudha gelbahudu ade neen munde idiya anta hinde iro saavra janak dhairya bandre prapanchaane gelbahudu - which translated to "If you gain courage because a thousand people are standing behind you, then you can only win a war. But if a thousand people standing behind get courage because you are standing in the front, then you can conquer the world" became popular. [8] She started her career with playing lead roles in television soaps Durga and Mahadevi. [5] Jois played the second female lead in films such as Vijayaratha and the Marathi film Rajkumar. [9] [10]

She played one of the main leads in Hondisi Bareyiri (2023). [11] She was then seen in the movie Mute. [12] [13] [14] [15] Her next films were Kshetrapthi (2023) and Ghost (2023), in which she played a news reporter. [16] [17] She will be seen essaying an important role in Ajay Rao starrer Yuudhakanda directed by Pavan Bhat. [18] She played a journalist role in the yet-to-release Nakshe. [19] She was a part of the film Kalankata, which is yet to release. [20]

Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. KGF: Chapter 1 is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language period action film written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. It is the first installment in the KGF series, followed by KGF: Chapter 2. The film features an ensemble cast including Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Vasishta N. Simha, Ramachandra Raju, Archana Jois, Anant Nag, Achyuth Kumar, Malavika Avinash, T. S. Nagabharana and B. Suresha. Filmed on a budget of 80 crore, it was the most expensive Kannada film at the time of its release. In the film, Rocky, a high-ranking mercenary, working for a prominent gold mafia in Bombay, seeks power and wealth in order to fulfill his mother's promise. Due to his high fame, the leaders of the gold mafia where he works hire him to assassinate Garuda, the son of the founder of Kolar Gold Fields.

KGF is an Indian Kannada language period action film series set mostly in the Kolar Gold Fields, which gives the series its name, created by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films starring Yash in lead role with an ensemble supporting cast. Set in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the series follows two narrators, Anand Ingalangi and his son Vijayendra Ingalangi, who gives an interview of a book written by Anand to a leading news channel, which tells the life story of Raja Krishnappa Bairya alias Rocky (Yash), a Mumbai-based high ranking mercenary born in poverty, and how he became the most dreaded person at that time.

Hondisi Bareyiri is a 2023 Kannada romantic drama film written and directed by debutant Ramenahalli Jagannatha, produced by Sunday Cinemas. It features Praveen Tej, Naveen Shankar, Shri Mahadev, Aishani Shetty, Bhavana Rao, Anirudh Acharya and Archana Jois. The composer was Jose Costa and the cinematographer was Shanthi Sagar. Ramenahalli Jagannatha penned the dialogues with Prashanth Rajappa and Masti. The film was released on 10 April 2023. It received positive reviews from critics and audiences.

<i>Ghost</i> (2023 film) 2023 Indian Kannada-language film

Ghost is a 2023 Indian Kannada-language action heist thriller film directed by M. G. Srinivas and produced by Sandesh Nagaraj under Sandesh Production. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jayaram, Anupam Kher, Prashant Narayanan, Satya Prakash, and Archana Jois. It is the second installment of a cinematic universe following Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni in which M. G. Srinivas had appeared as Mahesh Das. In the film, an anonymous gangster called "Big Daddy" hijacks a prison to steal hidden gold bars recovered during a CBI raid, but ACP Chengappa arrives to stop Big Daddy from executing his plans.

Naveen Shankar is an Indian actor who has worked predominantly in Kannada cinema. Naveen made his feature film debut with Gultoo in 2018. He is known for his performance in Hondisi Bareyiri, Gurudev Hoysala and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.

Archana Kottige is an Indian actress, based in Bangalore and primarily works in Kannada Films. She is known for the films like Dear Sathya, Yellow Gangs, Vijayanand, Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare and Hondisi Bareyiri.
