2013 Mediterranean Games 17th edition of the Mediterranean Games

The 2013 Mediterranean Games, officially known as the XVII Mediterranean Games and commonly known as Mersin 2013, was an international multi-sport event held from 20 to 30 June 2013 in Mersin, Turkey. Mersin was announced as the host city at the General Assembly of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM) on 23 February 2011. Mersin is the second city in Turkey after İzmir to host the Mediterranean Games. All 24 member National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the ICMG participated in the Games. The official programme for the Games is featuring events in 27 different sports.

The archery competitions at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin took place between 22 June and 24 June at the Macit Özcan Sports Complex. For the first time since 2005, archery competitions were held.

Guendalina Sartori is an Italian archer. A gold medalist at the World Archery Championships, European Games and the Mediterranean Games, she competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing in fourth in the women's team event.

Archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics

The archery events at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place in Yumenoshima Park. Five events were planned with a mixed team event staged for the first time.

Archery at the Youth Olympic Games

Archery has been included in the Summer Youth Olympics since their inauguration. As with archery at the Summer Olympics, only the recurve is competed. Unlike the Summer Olympic competition, a mixed team event is competed, in which competitors are paired across national boundaries to create evenly matched multinational teams, as part of the Youth Olympic Games' spirit of cooperation.

Mete Gazoz Turkish archer

Mete Gazoz is a Turkish recurve archer. He won the gold medal in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also represented Turkey at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Alicia Marín is a Spanish recurve archer. She has competed for Spain at the Summer Youth Olympics, World Archery Championships, the Archery World Cup, and the European Games, winning a bronze medal in the latter in 2015.

Lucilla Boari is an Italian recurve archer who has represented Italy at the 2016 Summer Olympics and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She has additionally competed for her country at the 2018 Mediterranean Games and the 2019 European Games, in which she won an individual gold and silver medal respectively.
