Violent Femmes is the debut album by Violent Femmes. Mostly recorded in July 1982, the album was released by Slash Records on vinyl and on cassette in April 1983, and on CD in 1987, with two extra tracks: "Ugly" and "Gimme the Car".

New Times is the sixth studio album released by Violent Femmes in 1994. It is the first album to not feature original drummer Victor DeLorenzo on drums, who had been replaced by Guy Hoffman. "Breakin' Up," a song lead singer Gordon Gano had written years before, was the lead single. Its video received minor airplay on MTV and appears on the band's DVD, Permanent Record - Live & Otherwise. The album did not sell well, but featured many of the Femmes' most musically complex and lyrically inventive songs, including "4 Seasons," and concert staple "I'm Nothing." "I'm Nothing" appeared in the movie Bickford Shmeckler's Cool Ideas.
Asleep in the Back is the debut studio album by English rock band Elbow, first released in the United Kingdom on 7 May 2001, and in the United States on 22 January 2002. The title track, "Asleep in the Back", was only included as a bonus track on later editions of the album after it had been released as a single and became the band's first Top 20 hit. The album release came in four different versions: the 12-track version, two 11-track versions only featuring either "Asleep in the Back" or "Can't Stop" and a 10-track version including neither of them. The record was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize in 2001.

This album was a top seller and topped the Billboard Holiday Albums Chart, and would have charted high on the Billboard 200 but from 1963 to 1973, holiday albums were not allowed to chart. It did not have the commercial appeal of Elvis' first Christmas album but over the years, it has become a perennial favorite. It was certified Gold on November 4, 1977, Platinum on December 1, 1977, 2x Platinum on May 20, 1988, and 3x Platinum on July 15, 1999 by the RIAA.

Givin' It Up is a first-time recording/collaboration between vocalist Al Jarreau and guitarist George Benson. It contains songs previously recorded by both artists and original music. Other vocalists and musicians featured are Jill Scott, Patti Austin, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Abe Laboriel, Chris Botti, Marcus Miller, and Paul McCartney. Garth Brooks: Live in Kansas City was a series of concerts held by American country pop singer Garth Brooks from November 5 through November 14, 2007. Among the first concerts held at the newly opened Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri, the nine-show series were Brooks' first multi-concert performances since his 1996–98 world tour.
