Justice Arindam Lodh (born 25 March 1963) is an Indian Judge at the High Court of Tripura since May 2018. [1] He is due to retire not earlier than March 2025.

Career

Lodh enrolled with the Bar in 1988 and practised at the Agartala Bench of the Gauhati High Court. After the establishment of the full-fledged Tripura High Court in 2013, he continued to appear there till his elevation to the Bench. Lodh represented the Indian Oil Corporation, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Northeast Frontier Railways and Prasar Bharati as their Standing Counsel at different times in his legal journey. He was also on the panel of lawyers for the Union Public Service Commission for Tripura region. In 2009, Government of India appointed him as Assistant Solicitor General for the Agartala Bench of the Gauhati High Court and a senior panel Counsel. He specializes in Civil, Constitutional, Criminal, Intellectual Property, Labour, Service and Tax law. [1]

A Supreme Court Collegium consisting of Justices Dipak Misra CJI, Jasti Chelameswar and Ranjan Gogoi recommended to the President of India in November 2017 that Lodh be made a Judge of the Tripura High Court. This was done overruling the Indian Intelligence Bureau's seemingly adverse comments about his professional competence. [2] Lodh assumed charge of his office on 7 May 2018. The oath was administered to him by the then Chief Justice Ajay Rastogi. [3]

Gauhati High Court

The Guwahati High Court was promulgated by governor general of India on 1 March 1948 after the Government of India Act 1935 was passed. Establishing the High Court of Assam with effect from 5 April 1948, for the then Province of Assam. The Tripura High Court is the High Court of the state of Tripura. It was established on 23 March 2013, after making suitable amendments in the Constitution of India and North-Eastern Areas (Re-organisation) Act, 1971. The seat of the High Court is at Agartala, the capital of Tripura. The first Chief Justice was Justice Deepak Gupta Earlier, the state of Tripura along with the other six states of the North - East of India was under the Gauhati High Court, a permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court was established in Agartala in the year 1992 having territorial jurisdiction of the state of Tripura.

Pushpa Virendra Ganediwala is a sitting additional judge of the Bombay High Court in Maharashtra, India. She has adjudicated a number of cases concerning the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in India. In 2021, the Supreme Court of India took the unusual step of withdrawing their recommendation to confirm her appointment as permanent, after Ganediwala adjudicated in three cases concerning sexual assault to acquit convicted offenders on appeal. Subhasis Talapatra is an Indian Judge. Presently, serving as Additional Judge of Tripura High Court. He is the former acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court. In September 2020 Justice Talapatra, has been selected as a member of the Telangana Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal.

Justice Satya Gopal Chattopadhyay is an Indian Judge at the High Court of Tripura since March 2020. He is due to retire not earlier than December 2022.
