Arkángel Divino is a Mexican professional wrestler. He currently wrestles for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide where he also wrestled under the ring name Bengala.

Arkángel Divino began his career around 2006 [2] by wrestling with his brother Último Maldito on the streets of his hometown of Aguascalientes City, [3] and later in both Mexicali [2] and Tijuana [4] in northern Mexico where they both came to be based in. They wrestled at pedestrian crossings and at red lights and then begged for money from motorists. At the same time, they recorded videos from the wrestling and the clips were uploaded to YouTube, where they received attention.

Professional wrestling career

On November 22, 2013, Arkángel Divino made his professional wrestling debut when he and his brother Último Maldito were invited to participate in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. They wrestled in an unofficial first match, which was not broadcast on TV. In the match, Arkangel Divino made his own version of the maneuver 'La Mistica', created by Carístico, who then won the prize for "Moment of the Year" in the TV show Tercera Caída. [5]

The Crash Lucha Libre (2016–2018)

In 2016, Arkángel Divino signed for Tijuana-based The Crash Lucha Libre, then the third largest promotion in Mexico behind the CMLL and AAA, and on August 13 of that year, he made his promotional debut. [6] On January 21, 2017, he won The Crash Junior Championship when he defeated Black Danger. He would defend the title in three matches during the year before losing to Black Boy on December 25 of that year. [7] [8]

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (2018–present)

In April 2018, Arkángel Divino moved to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. On April 20, he made his debut appearance in the promotion in his new hometown, Tijuana. The match was awarded 4.5 stars (out of 5 possible) in the American magazine Wrestling Observer Newsletter. [9] On June 3, he wrestled in his first pay-per-view event, Verano de Escándalo in Monterrey. He wrestled extensively in televised matches in AAA in 2018 and the first half of 2019, often in the first or second match at an event. [10] He was not one of the big names, but his matches often received good reviews from critics.

On September 8, 2019, at an event in Puebla, Arkángel Divino was repackaged as Bengala, used by several AAA wrestlers. [11] [12] However, he still uses the name Arkángel Divino when wrestling outside of AAA (which is allowed by AAA, but not for directly competing promotions like CMLL).

Lucha libre is the term used in Mexico for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, as well as "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. Jorge Ernesto Guzmán Rodríguez is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler and political activist, best known under the ring name, El Hijo del Santo. Guzmán is the youngest child, out of eleven, of Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, better known as El Santo, a professional wrestler, film actor, and Mexican folk hero. Jorge Guzmán's son made his debut under the name "Santo Jr.", the third-generation Guzmán to use the name "Santo". Jorge Guzmán's uncles, Miguel "Black" Guzmán, Jesús Guzmán and Jimmy Guzmán were also wrestlers. Axxel, Jorge Guzmán's nephew, originally wrestled as "El Nieto del Santo" but Jorge Guzmán owned the rights to the "Santo" name and objected. Guzmán has also followed in his father's footsteps, as he has starred in several lucha films.

Shocker (wrestler) Mexican professional wrestler (born 1971)

José Luis Jair Soria is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, who works under the ring name Shocker. He currently works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in Mexico and has previously worked for AAA in Mexico, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, in the United States and New Japan Pro-Wrestling in Japan. Soria is a second-generation professional wrestler; his father, Rubén Soria, was an active wrestler from 1963 to the 1970s.

Crazy Boy is a Mexican professional wrestler who is best known in Lucha Libre. He works for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) in Mexico. Crazy Boy is the first cousin of Super Crazy.

CMLL World Mini-Estrella Championship Professional wrestling midget championship

The CMLL World Mini-Estrella Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the Mexican Lucha libre wrestling-based promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The championship is exclusively competed for in the Mini-Estrellas, or Minis, division. A "Mini" is not necessarily a person with dwarfism, as in North American Midget wrestling; it can also be short wrestlers who work in the Mini-Estrellas division. The championship was created in 1992 and is the oldest active Mini-Estrella title in Mexico; both the Mexican National Mini-Estrella Championship and the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) World Mini-Estrella Championship were introduced after CMLL created their Mini-Estrella championship. As it is a professional wrestling championship, it is not won legitimately; it is instead won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline. All title matches take place under two out of three falls rules.

Ricky Marvin Mexican professional wrestler

Ricardo Fuentes Romero is a second-generation Mexican professional wrestler, known by his ring name Ricky Marvin, and is most known for his work in the Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling Noah. Between 2005 and 2007, he also wrestled as the masked Mushiking Joker character, a storyline arch-enemy of "Mushiking Terry", who was played by his then-tag team partner Kotaro Suzuki. Cien Caras Jr.'s real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. He is not a blood relative of wrestler Cien Caras, but instead is using the ring name with permission from Cien Caras.

CMLL 81st Anniversary Show Mexican professional wrestling supercard show

The CMLL 81st Anniversary Show was a major professional wrestling event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on September 19, 2014, in CMLL's home arena Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. The event commemorated the 81st anniversary of the creation of CMLL, which is the oldest professional wrestling promotion in the world. CMLL's anniversary show is their biggest, most important show of the year, comparable to the Super Bowl for the National Football League or WrestleMania for World Wrestling Entertainment. Hechicero / Rey Hechicero is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, who works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where he is the current CMLL World Heavyweight Champion in his first reign. He portrays a rudo wrestling character. Hechicero has also made appearances on the Mexican independent circuit, as well as in Japan for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and in the United States for Ring of Honor (ROH).

The Crash Lucha Libre Mexican professional wrestling promotion

The Crash Lucha Libre, also referred to as simply The Crash, is a lucha libre promotion based in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The promotion largely runs its events in Tijuana, Mexico City, and Monterrey. The promotion currently has working relationships with American promotions DEFY Wrestling, PCW ULTRA, and International Wrestling Revolution Group and Promociones MDA, China's Oriental Wrestling Entertainment. The Crash previously had a working relationship with Impact Wrestling in US/Canada, Mexico's Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Japan's Pro Wrestling Noah between 2016 and 2018, until Konnan, the intermediary between the promotions, left The Crash. On February 21, 2019 The Crash announced a partnership with Mexico's Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, America's Ring of Honor and Japan's New Japan Pro-Wrestling which would later on that year end in late September, on August 12, 2019, Major League Wrestling and The Crash Lucha Libre announced a working relationship which ended in November of that year when Major League Wrestling would work full time with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

The Crash Junior Championship Mexican professional wrestling championship

The Crash Junior Championship is a professional wrestling championship contested for in the Mexican lucha libre promotion The Crash Lucha Libre based in Tijuana, Baja California. The junior championship is a secondary championship, behind both The Crash Heavyweight Championship and The Crash Cruiserweight Championship, primarily for lower ranked, younger wrestlers. As it was a professional wrestling championship, the championship was not won not by actual competition, but by a scripted ending to a match determined by the bookers and match makers. On occasion the promotion declares a championship vacant, which means there is no champion at that point in time. This can either be due to a storyline, or real life issues such as a champion suffering an injury being unable to defend the championship, or leaving the company.

Bandido is a Mexican luchador enmascarado who is primarily known for his work in the promotions Lucha Libre Elite (LLE), The Crash Lucha Libre and Dragon Gate (DG). He is currently under a full-time contract with Ring of Honor (ROH) where he is a former one time ROH World Champion. He is a fourth-generation wrestler, a relative of Apóstol Jr., Myzteziz Jr., and cousin of Magia Blanca. Bandido's real name is not publicly known, which is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico.

The Crash VI Aniversario or The Crash Sexto Aniversario is a professional wrestling supercard event, scripted and produced by the Mexican lucha libre wrestling company The Crash Lucha Libre, which took place on November 4, 2017 at Auditorio Fausto Gutierrez in The Crash Lucha Libre's home town of Tijuana, Baja California. The event commemorated the creation of The Crash Lucha Libre in November 2011 and is their biggest show of the year.

Triplemanía XXX 2022 Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event

Triplemanía XXX is an ongoing three-day professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event being promoted and produced by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. The event is being held on April 30, June 18, and October 15, 2022. The April 30 event took place at Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey in Monterrey, the June 18 event took place at Estadio Caliente Xoloitzcuintles in Tijuana and the October 15 event will take place at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City. It marks the 30th year in a row that AAA has held a Triplemanía show and comprises the 37th, 38th, and 39th overall shows held under the Triplemanía banner since 1993. The annual Triplemanía show is AAA's biggest event of the year, serving as the culmination of major storylines in what has been described as AAA's version of WrestleMania or their Super Bowl event. Being held as part of AAA's 30th Anniversary Tour, Triplemanía XXX will be the first Triplemanía event since 1996 to be held across three days. The event is airing on PPV via the FITE TV service.
