Armed Forces Day (Korean :국군의날) in South Korea is an annual event usually celebrated on 1 October to commemorate the service of men and women in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. The day that South Korean forces broke through the 38th parallel in 1950 during the Korean War. [1] It is not a national holiday or public day off,but a National Flag Raising Day (국기게양일) to recognize and honor the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. In 2017,the holiday was celebrated on 28 September rather than the usual date to avoid clashing with the lunar holiday of Chuseok. [2] Similarly,in 2023 the military parade was held ahead of the holiday,it would be the first of what is now once more a yearly tradition.

Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty. The day is also marked by war remembrances in several other non-Commonwealth countries. In most countries,Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the end of First World War hostilities. Hostilities ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918,in accordance with the armistice signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 that morning. The First World War formally ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919.
The National Day of the Republic of China,also referred to as Double Ten Day or Double Tenth Day,is a public holiday on 10 October,now held annually as national day in the Republic of China. It commemorates the start of the Wuchang Uprising on 10 October 1911 which ultimately led to the establishment of the Republic of China on 1 January 1912,and the collapse of the imperial Qing dynasty,ending 2,133 years of imperial rule of China since the Qin dynasty. The day was once held as public holiday in mainland China during the Mainland Period of the ROC before 1949. The subsequent People's Republic of China continues to observe the Anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution at the same date but not as a public holiday,which emphasize more on its revolutionary characteristics as commemoration of a historical event rather than celebration to the founding of the Republic of China.
Victory over Japan Day is the day on which Imperial Japan surrendered in World War II,in effect bringing the war to an end. The term has been applied to both of the days on which the initial announcement of Japan's surrender was made –15 August 1945,in Japan,and because of time zone differences,14 August 1945 –as well as to 2 September 1945,when the surrender document was signed,officially ending World War II.

An Armed Forces Day,alongside its branch-specific variants often referred to as Army or Soldier's Day,Navy or Sailor's Day,and Air Force or Aviator's Day,is a holiday dedicated to honoring the armed forces,or one of their branches,of a sovereign state,including their personnel,history,achievements,and perceived sacrifices. It's often patriotic or nationalistic in nature,carrying propaganda value outside of the conventional boundaries of a military's subculture and into the wider civilian society. Many nations around the world observe this day. It is usually distinct from a Veterans or Memorial Day,as the former is dedicated to those who previously served and the latter is dedicated to those who perished in the fulfillment of their duties.

Ukraine abolished the holiday starting 1992 and,after the Revolution of Dignity,has instated the somewhat similar Defender of Ukraine Day on 1 October.

Defender of the Fatherland Day is a national holiday celebrated annually on May 7,commemorating the founding of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan. The event is marked by military parades,fireworks and ceremonies all around the country. The holiday is perceived in society as "a men’s day" and is considered to be the Kazakh analogue to the International Women’s Day.
Day of the Foundation of the Republic is the Republic Day and National day of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,held on 9 September.

Independence Day or Republic Day is the main state holiday in the partially recognized Republic of South Ossetia. This date is celebrated on September 20. It commemorates South Ossetia's declaration of independence from the Georgian SSR in 1990,and the country's recognition as a sovereign state by Russia in 2008.
Day of the Armed Forces is a national holiday in Kyrgyzstan celebrated annually on May 29 commemorating the founding of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. It the second military holiday celebrated in the country,with Defender of the Fatherland Day on 23 February being of equal status as of January 2003. Armed Forces Day also takes place a day after a different holiday,Border Guards Day,which commemorates jointly with Armed Forces Day.
