Arne Engels (born 8 September 2003) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder, right-back or right winger for Scottish Premiership club Celtic and the Belgium national team.

Club career

Club NXT

Engels began his career at the youth academy of Club Brugge. [2] On 22 August 2020, Engels made his debut for Brugge's reserve side, Club NXT in the Belgian First Division B against RWDM47. He was a starter as NXT lost 2–0. [3]

FC Augsburg

On 3 January 2023, Engels signed for Bundesliga club FC Augsburg on a four-and-a-half-year contract. [4]

Celtic

On 30 August 2024, Engels signed a four-year contract with Scottish Premiership side Celtic. [5] On 1 September 2024, Engels made his debut for the club, coming on as a substitute replacing Paulo Bernardo in the 62nd minute in a 3–0 win against rivals Rangers. [6]

International career

Engels debuted for the Belgium national team on 6 September 2024 in a Nations League game against Israel at the Nagyerdei Stadion in Hungary. He substituted Youri Tielemans in the 74th minute of Belgium's 3–1 victory. [7]
