History

Arun Icecreams was started by Mr. R.G.Chandramogan in 1970. In 1985, the brand topped the ice cream sales in terms of volume list, in Tamil Nadu.

By 1999, around 700 outlets were present in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, and 2,300 parlors as of 2018, and the brand extended to Maharashtra and Orissa. [1] [4]

R. G. Chandramogan is a dairyman and entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu. He is the Chairman of Hatsun Agro Product Ltd, the largest private-sector dairy company in India. The company's well-known brands Arun, Arokya and Hatsun are leaders in the segments of ice creams, milk and curd amongst private dairies in India. He is one of the first generation of entrepreneurs from Thiruthangal, Sivakasi. He is one among the 100 India Billionaires, with a fortune of $2.5 billion.

Saravana Stores, founded in 1969, is a chain of retail stores in India. It is the largest family owned business retail chain in India. It is the first store to introduce Aadi Thallupadi concept.

Arun Pandian is an Indian actor, film director, film producer and politician who predominately works in Tamil films. He began his career as an actor as part of the critically acclaimed film Oomai Vizhigal (1986). After retiring from acting, he took the post of chief producer for the London-based Ayngaran International, a film production and distribution company, however, he later started his own production and distribution company A&P Groups.

Arun Krishnamurthy is an Indian environmental activist who has initiated the campaign of cleaning various lakes across India. He is known for founding the Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) 2011 based in Chennai which has its branches in 15 states and other cities such as Hyderabad, Delhi and Coimbatore. Arun with the organisation has been successful in cleaning at least 169 lakes in the country and having worked in Google before quitting the job to dedicate voluntarily. He was chosen as among the five people for prestigious Rolex Awards for Enterprise award in 2012 for scientific lake restoration in Chennai.
