Asansol railway division is one of the four railway divisions under the jurisdiction of Eastern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. [1] It was formed in 1925 and its headquarters is located in Asansol in West Bengal, India. Currently[ when? ] it is the highest revenue generating division of Eastern Railways.[ citation needed ]
