Ascension (previously known as Ascension Press [2] ) is a publisher of Catholic books and digital media. The company, founded in 1998, is based in West Chester, Pennsylvania. [1] [2] Ascension's YouTube channel is called Ascension Presents, one of the largest Catholic YouTube channels in English, with nearly 973,000 subscribers and more than 144 million total views. [5]

History

Ascension began in 1998. In 2021, Ascension produced The Bible in a Year podcast with Fr. Mike Schmitz, which was iTunes' most popular podcast for 17 consecutive days in early 2021, and for 5 days in early 2022. [6] [7] In 2023, Ascension produced The Catechism in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz, which debuted as iTunes’ #1 podcast on January 1, 2023. [8] In 2024, Ascension produced The Bible in 10 Minutes with Fr. Mike Schmitz, which received over 1 million views in its first week. [9]
