Ashiqur Rahman (born 1 December 2005) is a Bangladeshi cricketer from Faridpur. [1] [2]
An opening batsman and occasional wicket-keeper,Rahman was one of Bangladesh's leading players when they won the 2023 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup,and was named player of the series. He scored 129 in the final against United Arab Emirates,winning the player of the match award. [3]
A few days later,Rahman made his List A debut for South Zone in the BCL 1-Day tournament,scoring 60. [4] Later that season,playing for Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy in first round of the 2023–24 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League,he scored 89 not out against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. [5]
The Bangladesh men's national cricket team,popularly known as The Tigers,is administered by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The Bangladesh women's national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Bangladesh in international women's cricket matches. They made their international debut when they played,and won,two matches against Thailand in July 2007 before participating in and winning the 2007 ACC Women's Tournament. Bangladesh were granted One-Day International (ODI) status in 2011 after finishing fifth in the 2011 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament that was held in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February 2020. It was the thirteenth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup,and the second to be held in South Africa after the 1998 event. Sixteen teams took part in the tournament,split into four groups of four. The top two teams from each group advanced to the Super League,with the bottom two teams in each group progressing to the Plate League. Bangladesh were the defending champions.
