Ashish Khetan is a distinguished Indian lawyer. From July 2021 to August 2024,he served as an associate professor at OP Jindal Global University,where he taught courses in investment law,commercial arbitration,and national securities laws. He is currently running his own private law practice.
Before joining the field of law,Khetan worked as a journalist and then had a stint in the field of politics and public policy.
In a career spanning over 15 years he worked with major English publications and TV news networks in India. [1]
In 2014,he joined the Aam Aadmi Party and fought the 2014 Indian General Election from New Delhi but lost to Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Meenakshi Lekhi.
In 2015,he was appointed as vice chairman of the Dialogue and Development Commission (DDC) of Delhi,a think tank of the Delhi government. [2] He was given the rank of Cabinet Minister for his contributions to the government. [3]
During his three year stint he formulated major policy recommendations and a few key legislations in sectors such as energy,health,education and urban development..
In April 2018,he resigned from the DDC to practice law. [4] In August 2018,he left the Aam Aadmi Party,citing the desire to pursue law as a full-time profession. [5]
He recently resigned from his position as an associate professor at OP Jindal Global University and has since established his own private legal practice.
He has written on issues like communal violence,internal security,political economy and law. His articles have appeared in The Indian Express ,The Telegraph,Scroll ,The Wire ,Tehelka,The New Indian Express,The Hindu and The Leaflet.

Sanjay Singh is an Indian politician,activist,national spokesman for Aam Aadmi Party,a member of the Rajya Sabha from Delhi. He was convicted in a 2001 protest case and was later given bail. In October 2023,he was arrested by Enforcement Directorate on allegations of bribery and liquor scam. After 6 months of custody,he was released on bail by Supreme Court. The court castigated the police that nothing was recovered. He was the first to be bailed out,out of several AAP leaders who were arrested,such as Satyendra Jain,Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal. The order became a case study in legal circles on how the court evaded directly ruling against the central government.

It was founded on 26 November 2012 by Arvind Kejriwal and his then-companions,following the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement against then Indian government of Indian National Congress. The AAP is currently the governing party in the Indian state of Punjab and the union territory of Delhi. On 10 April 2023,the AAP was officially granted the status of national party by the ECI. Aam Aadmi Party Delhi or AAP Delhi is a state wing of Aam Aadmi Party. AAP became a state party in Delhi in 2013.
