Asif Khan (born 15 February 1990) is a Pakistani cricketer who currently represents the United Arab Emirates in international cricket. [1] Between 2007 and 2014, Asif played domestic cricket in Pakistan, including 32 first-class matches for Lahore. [1]
A right-handed batsman, Asif moved to the UAE in 2017 with the aim to be selected for the national cricket team once he became eligible based on his residency in the country. [2]
In March 2022, he was named in the UAE's One Day International (ODI) squad for the 2022 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series tournament, [3] his maiden call-up to the national side. [4] He made his ODI debut on 5 March 2022, against Oman. [5]
On 16 March 2023, in a match against Nepal, Khan scored his first century in ODIs, [6] off just 41 balls, which was the quickest hundred by a player from an associate nation, [7] and fourth quickest overall in an ODI. [8] The same month, he brought up his second ODI century, scoring a career-best 103 runs off 84 balls, against the United States in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off. [9]

Paras Khadka is a Nepalese former cricketer who is the current Secretary of Cricket Association of Nepal and President of Bagmati Province Cricket Association. He was the captain of the Nepalese cricket team from 2008 to 2019. An all-rounder, Khadka was a right-handed batsman, and a right-arm medium-fast as well as an off-break bowler. He made his debut against Malaysia in April 2004. Khadka was one of the cricketers who played in Nepal's inaugural One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018.
Shaiman Anwar Butt is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. A powerful right-handed top-order batsman, he made his debut for the United Arab Emirates national side in December 2010, having previously represented Sialkot and Servis Industries in Pakistani domestic tournaments. In March 2021, Shaiman was found guilty of corruption and banned from all cricket for eight years.

The 2015–2017 ICC World Cricket League Championship was the second edition of the ICC World Cricket League Championship. It took place from 2015 until 2017, in parallel with the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. Both Ireland and Afghanistan had been promoted to the main ICC ODI Championship and did not compete in this tournament. Instead, Kenya and Nepal were included in the tournament. The tournament was played in a round-robin format. All matches were recorded as List A matches, and those in which both teams had ODI status were also recorded as ODIs.
The 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that took place during March 2018 in Zimbabwe. It formed the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. The top two teams, Afghanistan national cricket team and the West Indies, qualified for the World Cup, joining the hosts and the seven teams who had already qualified through their ranking in the ICC ODI Championship. Afghanistan won the tournament, beating the West Indies by 7 wickets in the final. Afghanistan’s Mohommad Shahzad was named the player of the match and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza was named the player of the tournament.
Sufyan Mehmood is an Omani cricketer, who plays for the Oman national cricket team. He played in the 2014 ICC World Cricket League Division Four tournament. He made his Twenty20 International debut for Oman against Hong Kong on 26 November 2015. He made his List A debut for Oman in their three-match series against the United Arab Emirates in October 2016.

The 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was an international cricket tournament that took place in April 2019 in Namibia. It was contested between six teams; Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the United States and tournament hosts Namibia. It formed part of the 2017–19 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL) which determined the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The final and third-place playoff match were granted One Day International (ODI) status by the International Cricket Council. Namibia won the tournament, after they beat Oman by 145 runs in the final. It was Namibia's first win in an ODI match, and it was the first ever ODI match played by Oman.

The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Going into the final series of the League 2 tournament, Nepal required four wins from four games to claim the third and final automatic place in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, at the expense of Namibia.
