Egil Danielsen was a Norwegian javelin thrower. He competed at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics and won the gold medal in 1956. Danielsen, who used an old-type wooden javelin, did poorly in the 1956 final, which was led by his Polish friend Janusz Sidło. Trying to help Danielsen, Sidło lent him his modern steel javelin, and Michel Macquet gave him a cup of strong coffee. Danielsen set a new world record at 85.71 m and won the gold medal. He could never reproduce that throw. For his Olympic victory and world record Danielsen was selected Norwegian Sportsperson of the Year in 1956.

Janusz Jan Sidło was a Polish javelin thrower. He competed at the 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, and 1968 Olympics and finished in 18th, 2nd, 8th, 4th and 7th place, respectively. He was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta and later the Knight's Cross. During his long career Sidło won 14 national titles and competed in five European Championships, winning them in 1954 and 1958 and medalling in 1969.
Astrid Strauss or, rarely, Strauß is a former freestyle swimmer from East Germany, who won the silver medal in the 800 m freestyle at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.
Corinne Maîtrejean is a French foil fencer who won a bronze medal in the foil team event of the 2005 World Fencing Championships in Leipzig with her teammates Adeline Wuillème, Céline Seigneur and Astrid Guyart. In 2013, she was part of the French team that won team silver in the World Championships, with Anita Blaze, Astrid Guyart and Ysaora Thibus. She is right-handed. She lives in Aubervilliers.

Her best result in the World Cup is a second place in Vail, United States, on 13 December 1992 just two hundreds of a second behind Ulrike Maier. Astrid Lødemel has a 3rd place in the World Cup from Morzine, France on 3 March 1993. She also competed in four events at the 1992 Winter Olympics.
Astrid Crabo is a Swedish retired badminton player affiliated with Täby BMF. She won a bronze medal at the 1995 IBF World Championships in the mixed doubles with Jan-Eric Antonsson, with whom she won the 1993 and 1996 Dutch Open tournaments. They competed in badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics, but lost in round 16 to Tri Kusharjanto and Minarti Timur from Indonesia. Crabo was named 1989 Swedish Junior player of the year.
John Danielsen is a Danish former footballer who played as a midfielder. During his club career he played for Boldklubben 1909. He earned 27 caps for the Denmark national team, won a silver medal in football at the 1960 Summer Olympics, and was in the finals squad for the 1964 European Nations' Cup. He played for 1909 from Odense in Denmark. He was transferred to the German club Werder Bremen, later returning to play for B 1909 again at the end of his career in the early 1970s.
