History

Astrotalk was founded in 2017 by Puneet Gupta after pivoting from his previous IT services company, CodeYeti. The idea emerged following a personal experience with an astrologer, which inspired Gupta to create a digital platform to connect users with verified astrologers. [6] [7]

Leadership

Anmol Jain joined Astrotalk in 2021 as Chief Business Officer and played a significant role in scaling operations. In 2023, he was elevated to the position of co-founder in recognition of his contributions. [8]

By 2024, Astrotalk expanded operations to several international markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. According to reports, 23% of the company’s revenue in FY24 came from its international user base. [5] [9]

Funding

Astrotalk remained bootstrapped for several years before raising external funding. In August 2021, the company raised $811,000 in seed funding through QED Innovation Labs. [11] In February 2024, Astrotalk raised $20 million in a Series A funding round led by New York-based Left Lane Capital at a $200 million pre-money valuation. Revenue and Growth

Astrotalk's revenue has grown rapidly over the years. The company's revenue from operations increased to ₹651 crore in FY24, [15] up from ₹283 crore in FY23. Revenue from Indian operations doubled to ₹529.6 crore, while international markets contributed ₹121.44 crore. [4] [16] [17] [18]
