Atsushi Fujita (藤田 敦史, Fujita Atsushi, born November 6, 1976 in Shirakawa, Fukushima) is a former long-distance runner from Japan.
He graduated from Komazawa University, during the student has participated in Hakone Ekiden.
He won the 2000 edition of the Fukuoka Marathon, clocking 2:06:51 on December 3, 2000 – the second fastest run of 2000 after Antonio Pinto's time at the London Marathon. This also won him the Japanese title and remains the record for the national championship race. Fujita finished in sixth place (2:15:45) at the 1999 World Championships in Seville and twelfth at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics.
He also won the 2002 Seoul International Marathon and the 2007 edition of the Beppu-Ōita Marathon.
His career quietly came to an end in 2013, as in his final two performances at the Lake Biwa Marathon and the Nagano Marathon, he did not finish the distance. [1]
In 2015 Fujita returned with a win at the Ishigakijima Marathon in Okinawa.

Toru Terasawa is a former Japanese long-distance runner who on February 17, 1963 set a world record in the marathon with a time of 2:15:16 at the Beppu Marathon. Terasawa placed second in the marathon at the 1964 Japanese Olympic trials and 15th at the 1964 Summer Olympics. Terasawa is also a two-time champion of the Fukuoka Marathon; he set a Japanese national record during his 1962 victory (2:16:18.4) and improved on it when he won in 1964 (2:14:48.2). At Fukuoka in 1966, he finished fifth (2:15:51.2) after colliding with Jim Hogan, the 1966 European marathon champion, and falling to the pavement just before the half way mark.
