The 20th Austin Film Critics Association Awards, honoring the best in filmmaking for 2024, will be announced on January 6, 2025. The nominations were announced on December 27, 2024. [1] [2] [3]
Brady Corbet's epic drama The Brutalist led the nominations with ten, followed by Dune: Part Two with eight, and Anora and The Substance with seven each. Unlike previous editions of the awards were five nominees while one winner was presented for the Robert R. "Bobby" McCurdy Memorial Breakthrough Artist Award; this year, the award will go to all five top nominees.

Austin Robert Butler is an American actor. Butler began his career on television, first in roles on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, most notably on Zoey 101 (2007–2008), and later on teen dramas, including recurring parts on The CW's Life Unexpected (2010–2011) and Switched at Birth (2011–2012). He gained recognition for starring in The Carrie Diaries (2013–2014) and The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017). Butler made his Broadway debut in the 2018 revival of The Iceman Cometh and portrayed Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino's film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).
Danielle Deadwyler is an American actress. Deadwyler gained widespread critical acclaim for starring in the western film The Harder They Fall (2021), the biopic Till (2022), and the drama film The Piano Lesson (2024). Her portrayal of Mamie Till in Till earned her many accolades, including the Gotham Independent Film Award for Outstanding Lead Performance and received nominations for a British Academy Film Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
