Laurie "Laul" Crawley BSC (born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire [2] ), is an English cinematographer. His works include Ballast , Four Lions , and The Crimson Petal and the White .

In 2013, Crawley shot Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom , which was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival [3] and has attracted critical attention[ vague ] for its cinematography. [4] Crawley has been inducted into the British Society of Cinematographers. [5] He has been awarded two cinematography awards at film festivals, [6] and also has been nominated for a 2014 Film Independent Spirit Award. [7]

In 2016 The Playlist profiled Crawley in their filmmakers on the rise stating that, "British DP Lol Crawley isn’t quite a brand new name — he’s been doing some remarkably impressive work in features for nearly a decade now. But of late, he’s gone from an extraordinarily impressive cinematographer to staking his claim at being one of the best in the world." [8]

Jordan Scott Cronenweth, ASC was an American cinematographer based in Los Angeles, California. A contemporary of Conrad Hall, he was recognized for his distinctive style of heavily textured, film noir-inspired photography, seen in numerous classic films, including Zandy's Bride, Gable and Lombard, Altered States, and Peggy Sue Got Married. Christopher Blauvelt is an American cinematographer, and a third generation film craftsman. Blauvelt started his career in the camera and electrical department under cinematographers Harris Savides, Christopher Doyle and Lance Acord. He continued to work with cinematographer and mentor Harris Savides until his sudden death from brain cancer. Blauvelt's continued work with Kelly Reichardt has garnered him an ICP Nomination in 2010 for his work on Meek's Cutoff and best cinematography at the Valladolid International Film Festival for Night Moves. Blauvelt shot Jeff Preiss’ directorial debut Low Down for producers Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, which won the Dramatic Cinematography award at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

"Ordinary Love" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It was written to honour Nelson Mandela and is included in the biography film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. The song received a limited 10-inch vinyl release on Record Store Day on 29 November 2013, less than a week before Mandela died.

The British Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Cinematography in a Theatrical Feature Film is an award given annually by the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC). It was first given in 1953, since 1976 a set of nominees is presented.
