Austin McDaniel (born May 20, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 57 Chevrolet for Brother-In-Law Racing.

Racing career

McDaniel has competed in series such as the CARS Late Model Stock Tour, where he finished fifth in points in 2016, the Southeast Limited Late Model Series, the UARA STARS Late Model Series, and the Paramount Kia Big 10 Challenge. [1] He is also a two-time track champion at Hickory Motor Speedway. [2] [3]

In 2024, McDaniel participated in the pre-season test for the ARCA Menards Series at Daytona International Speedway, driving the No. 75 Chevrolet for Brother-In-Law Racing, [4] and placed 57th in the overall results between the two testing days. [5] Several months later, it was revealed that McDaniel would make his series debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway, driving the No. 57 for BILR, having originally been tabbed to drive the No. 75. [2] [6] [7] [8] After placing 22nd in the lone practice session, [9] he qualified in 24th and finished ten laps down in 21st. [10] [11]

The 2024 General Tire 150 was the 6th stock car race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season, and the 6th iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, a 1.5 mile (2.4 km) permanent asphalt tri-oval shaped intermediate speedway. The race took the scheduled 100 laps to complete. Tanner Gray, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, would recover from a flat tire in the early stages of the race, and held off the field on worn tires to earn his first career ARCA Menards Series win. Carson Kvapil would dominate the majority of the race, leading a race-high 61 laps before finishing 2nd. To fill out the podium, pole-sitter Andrés Pérez de Lara, driving for Rev Racing, would finish 3rd, respectively.
