Stock car racing events in the ARCA Menards Series have been held at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana since 1979. The track currently hosts one race for the series, currently known as the Salem ARCA 200, in July.
The series did not race at the track from 1980 to 1986. The track held one ARCA race in 1987, two in 1988 and one in 1989. The series did not race at the track again in 1990 and 1991. The track returned to the series' schedule in 1992.
From 1996 to 2019, the track had two ARCA races, one in the spring and one in the fall.
In 2020, the fall race was taken off the schedule and the series was only scheduled to race there in the spring. However, the race was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The track returned to the ARCA schedule in 2021 with one race in the fall.
In 2024, the track's one race was moved from the fall to the summer.
Frank Kimmel is the only multi-time winner of the spring event, taking four victories. He also won the fall event five times, totaling nine wins at the track. Tim Steele was victorious four times at the track, including winning the fall event three times. Tom Hessert III and Bob Strait are also multi-time winners of the fall event.

Kentucky Speedway is an inactive 1.5 miles (2.4 km) tri-oval intermediate speedway in Sparta, Kentucky. It has hosted various major races throughout its existence, including NASCAR and IndyCar races. The track is owned by Speedway Motorsports, LLC (SMI) and is currently used as a storage and parking lot for various companies. The speedway has a grandstand capacity of 66,000 as of 2020.
Kentuckiana, a portmanteau of Kentucky and Indiana, is the area in the Upland South region of the United States containing metropolitan areas with counties in both Kentucky and Indiana. Kentuckiana is primarily the Louisville metropolitan area, including nine counties in Kentucky and five counties in Southern Indiana. This area "is regularly referred to as Kentuckiana".
North Wilkesboro Speedway is a 0.625 miles (1.006 km) paved oval short track in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The track has hosted a variety of racing events since its inaugural season of racing in 1947; primarily races sanctioned by NASCAR. It has been owned by Speedway Motorsports, LLC (SMI) since 2007 with Ronald Queen serving as director of operations. North Wilkesboro Speedway is served by U.S. Route 421.
The Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is an auto racing sanctioning body in the United States, founded in 1953 by John Marcum. A subsidiary of NASCAR since 2018, the current president of ARCA is Ron Drager, who took over the position in 1996 following the death of Bob Loga. The ARCA Menards Series races stock cars similar to those seen in past years in the NASCAR Cup Series, and indeed most cars used in the Menards Series were previously used in NASCAR. ARCA contains a mix of both professional racers and hobby racers alike, in addition to younger competitors trying to make a name for themselves, sometimes driving as part of a driver development program for a NASCAR team. ARCA Menards Series races are broadcast on Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2 or MAVTV, and they have been previously broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, USA Network, TNN, Prime Network, CBS Sports Network, NBCSN, TBS, TNT, SpeedVision/Speed and Fox Sports Net.
Michael Gregory Helton is an American businessman and the current vice chairman for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, better known as NASCAR. He is best known for being NASCAR's third president and for officially announcing to the public the death of Dale Earnhardt. He previously held management positions at various racetracks across the United States before becoming the president of NASCAR. In 2015, he became the vice chairman of NASCAR, overseeing competition in NASCAR's national series.
Salem Speedway is a 0.555 mi (0.893 km) long paved oval racetrack in Washington Township, Washington County, near Salem, Indiana, United States, approximately 100 miles (160 km) south of Indianapolis. Lira Motorsports is an American professional stock car racing team that competes in the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East. Owned by Carlos and Amanda Lira, the team made its debut in the ARCA Menards Series in 2015, fielding multiple cars and drivers throughout the year. The season began on February 13 with the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire and ended on October 14 with the Kansas 150. James "Bo" LeMastus is an American businessman, professional racing driver, and former team owner. He races in the Stadium Super Trucks and formerly competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and ARCA Racing Series. He was also the co-owner of DGR-Crosley until 2021.

The 2019 Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 was the third stock car race of the 2019 ARCA Menards Series season and the 24th iteration of the event. The race was held on Sunday, April 14, 2019, in Salem, Indiana at Salem Speedway, a 0.555 miles permanent paved oval-shaped racetrack. The race was shortened from its scheduled 200 laps to 101 laps due to rain. Venturini Motorsports driver Michael Self would dominate the race until the caution came out on lap 98, with the race being officially called three laps later. The race was Self's fifth career ARCA Menards Series win, his second of the season, and his second consecutive win. To fill out the podium, Sam Mayer of GMS Racing and Carson Hocevar of KBR Development would finish second and third, respectively.
The Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic was an annual American all-star game featuring high school basketball players. Started in 1973, it was part of the Kentucky Derby Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, leading up to the Kentucky Derby horse race. The Classic was sponsored by the local McDonald's restaurants of Kentuckiana for over 20 years from its inception until 1996. It was played at Freedom Hall, except for one year at the KFC Yum! Center in 2011. The Classic was canceled in 2018 due to declining attendance and financial losses. It had been the country's longest-running high school all-star basketball game. Star players who participated included Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Penny Hardaway, Moses Malone, Jamal Mashburn, Donovan Mitchell, Victor Oladipo, Isiah Thomas, and Dominique Wilkins.
James Swanson is an American professional stock car racing driver who has previously competed in the ARCA Menards Series, with a majority of his starts being with Wayne Peterson Racing. He has also competed in the ASA National Tour.
