Ava Elizabeth Stewart (born September 30, 2005) is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She represented Canada at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games. Additionally she was a member of the bronze medal winning teams at the 2022 Pan American Championships and 2023 Pan American Games.
Stewart was born in Lebanon, Tennessee in 2005 to an American mother and a Canadian father. Her family moved to Bowmanville, Ontario in 2010. [1] She began gymnastics when she was eighteen months old. [2]
Stewart made her elite debut at Elite Canada where she finished third in the junior all-around behind Maya Zonneveld and Cassie Lee. [3] As a result, she was selected to make her international debut at 2020 L'International Gymnix. While there, she was part of the Canadian team that finished fourth. Individually, she finished seventh in the all-around and won the bronze medal on the balance beam behind Americans Konnor McClain and Skye Blakely. [4]
Stewart became age-eligible for senior competition in 2021 and made her senior debut at Elite Canada, which was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. She finished second in the all-around and on balance beam behind Ellie Black, first on floor exercise, and third on uneven bars behind Rose-Kaying Woo and Black. [5] Stewart was scheduled to compete at the Doha World Cup in March; however, the event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Qatar. [6] [7] Stewart next competed at two Technical Trials where she finished second in the all-around behind Black at both. [8] [9] [10] Stewart competed at the Canadian Championships where she once again finished second in the all-around behind Black. Additionally she finished first on uneven bars, second on balance beam behind Black, and fourth on floor exercise behind Brooklyn Moors, Black, and Lillian Bate. [11]
On June 17, Stewart was officially named to Canada's 2020 Olympic team alongside Black, Moors, and Shallon Olsen. [12] Had the Olympic Games not been postponed, Stewart would not have been age-eligible for the competition due to her 2005 birth year. [13] Stewart made her senior international debut at the Olympic Games. [14] The Canadian team finished tenth in the qualification round and did not advance to the finals. [15]
Stewart competed at the 2022 City of Jesolo Trophy where she helped Canada finish third in the team competition. Individually she qualified to and finished fifth in the uneven bars event final. [16] In July Stewart competed at the Pan American Championships where she helped Canada finish third as a team.
Stewart announced her verbal commit to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, starting in the 2024–25 season. [17]
In early October Stewart competed at the 2023 World Championships where she helped the Canadian team finish twelfth in qualifications. Later that month she competed at the Pan American Games. On the first day of competition Stewart helped Canada win bronze behind the United States and Brazil. Individually she qualified to the all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam finals. During the all-around final she finished fifth. During event finals she placed sixth on uneven bars and won bronze on balance beam behind Brazilians Rebeca Andrade and Flávia Saraiva. [18]
In late June Stewart was named to the team to represent Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics alongside Ellie Black, Cassie Lee, Shallon Olsen, and Aurélie Tran. [19]
At the 2024 Olympic Games Stewart helped Canada qualify to the team final, where they ultimately finished fifth. Individually she qualified to the all-around final and finished nineteenth. [20]

Jade Fernandes Barbosa is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She is a two-time individual bronze medalist at the World Championships, and represented Brazil at the 2008, 2016, and 2024 Olympic Games. She was part of the historic teams that won silver at the 2023 World Championships and bronze at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Elsabeth Ann Black is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She is a four-time Olympian, having represented her country at the 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 Olympic games. She is the 2017 World all-around silver medallist, making her the first Canadian gymnast to win a world all-around medal, and she led the Canadian women's gymnastics team to a bronze medal in the 2022 World Championships team final, the first world team medal won by a Canadian gymnastics team. She won a silver medal on the balance beam at the 2022 World Championships. She is also the 2018 Commonwealth Games all-around champion, a two-time Pan American Games all-around champion, and a six-time Canadian national all-around champion. At the 2020 Olympic Games, Black placed fourth in the balance beam final, the highest placement in the Olympics for a female Canadian gymnast.
Anastasia Andreyevna Ilyankova is a Russian artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic silver medalist, the 2019 European champion, and the 2019 and 2020 Russian champion on the uneven bars. She is a four-time FIG World Cup medalist, and she finished fourth on the uneven bars at the 2017 World Championships.
Rebeca Rodrigues de Andrade is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. Having won a total of six Olympic and nine World medals, she is the most decorated Brazilian and Latin American gymnast of all time, as well as the most decorated Brazilian Olympian in any discipline. In the all-around, she is the 2022 World champion, a two-time Olympic silver medalist, the 2023 World silver medalist, and the 2021 Pan American champion. On vault, she is the 2020 Olympic gold medalist, the 2024 Olympic silver medalist, a two-time World Champion, and the 2023 Pan American Games champion. She led the Brazilian team to its first ever team medals at the 2023 World Championships (silver) and the 2024 Olympics (bronze), as well as the gold medal at the 2021 Pan American Championships. She won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in the floor exercise.
Flávia Lopes Saraiva is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She represented Brazil at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris where she won a bronze medal as part of the Brazilian team. She was also part of the teams that won silver at the 2023 World Championships, gold at the 2018 South American Games and bronze at the 2015 and 2019 Pan American Games. Individually she is the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic floor exercise champion, the 2023 World Championships floor exercise bronze medalist and is a multi-medalist at the Pan American Games, South American Games, and Pan American Championships.
Georgia-Rose Brown is an Australian artistic gymnast who now represents New Zealand in international competition. She qualified to represent New Zealand at the 2024 Summer Olympics through the 2024 FIG World Cup series.
Lorrane dos Santos Oliveira is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the Brazilian team that won a historic silver medal at the 2023 World Championships. She also won team bronze medals at the 2015 and 2019 Pan American Games. Individually, she is the 2021 Pan American uneven bars champion and all-around bronze medalist. She represented Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics and is currently competing at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Pauline Sieglinde Schäfer-Betz or Pauline Schäfer is a German artistic gymnast who represented Germany at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Summer Olympics. She is the 2017 World Champion, the 2021 World silver medalist, and the 2015 World bronze medalist on the balance beam. She was part of the bronze medal-winning German team at the 2022 European Championships.
Nina Derwael is a Belgian artistic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic champion, a two-time World champion, and a two-time European champion on the uneven bars. She is the 2019 European Games champion on the balance beam, as well as a two-time Belgian national all-around champion.
Ana Filipa da Silva Martins is a Portuguese artistic gymnast who competed at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. She won a bronze medal at the 2015 Summer Universiade on the balance beam. She is the first Portuguese gymnast to win a World Cup gold medal.
Shallon Jade Olsen is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 World silver medallist and 2018 Commonwealth Games champion on vault. She is also the 2018 Commonwealth Games floor exercise bronze medallist and the 2019 Pan American Games vault bronze medallist. She was a member of the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. She is also the 2016 Pacific Rim vault champion, team silver medallist, and floor exercise bronze medallist. She represented Canada at the 2016 Olympics where she was the youngest member of the Canadian Olympic team and at the 2020 Olympic Games. Additionally, she currently competes for the University of Alabama gymnastics team, and she helped the Crimson Tide win the 2021 SEC Championships.
Brooklyn Chloe Moors is a Canadian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2020 Olympic Games and represented Canada at the 2017, 2018, and 2019 World Championships. At the 2017 World Championships, she became the first Canadian to win the Longines Prize for Elegance. She is the 2019 Pan American Games champion on the floor exercise and the silver medalist with the team. She is also the 2017 Pan American champion on the floor exercise. She currently competes for the UCLA Bruins in collegiate gymnastics.
Georgia-Mae Fenton is an English artistic gymnast and a member of both the British national gymnastics team and the England Commonwealth Games gymnastics squad. She is the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth champion on uneven bars, and a member of the gold medal-winning England team in 2022. With Great Britain, she was part of the team that won silver at both the 2022 European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships and 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, before winning the gold medal, the first for a British women's team, at the 2023 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Kayla Kecia DiCello is an American artistic gymnast. She is the 2021 World bronze medalist and the 2023 Pan American Games champion in the all-around. On the junior level, she is the 2019 Junior World vault champion and the 2019 U.S. Junior national all-around champion. She was an alternate for the 2020 Olympic team and the gold medal-winning 2023 World Championships team. She also competes for the University of Florida women's gymnastics team.
Emma Kathryn Mary Spence is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She represented Canada at the 2022 World Championships and won a bronze in the team event, their first team medal. She won bronze with the team at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Individually she is the 2018 Youth Olympic bronze medallist on vault as well as the 2022 Commonwealth Games all-around and balance beam bronze medalist.
Viktoria Viktorovna Listunova is a Russian artistic gymnast. She represented the Russian Olympic Committee at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won the gold medal in the team event. She was a member of the team that won gold at the inaugural Junior World Championships. Individually, she is the 2019 Junior World all-around and floor exercise champion, the 2021 European all-around champion, and the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Russian National Champion.
Zoé Allaire-Bourgie is a retired Canadian artistic gymnast and is the 2018 Junior Pan-American gold medalist on balance beam.
Katelyn Jong is an American artistic gymnast and a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team. She is the 2021 U.S. Junior National Champion.
Cassandra Lee is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She represented Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics as well as the inaugural Junior World Championships and the 2021 and 2023 World Championships.
Aurélie Tran is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She represented Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Additionally she was a member of the bronze medal-winning team at the 2023 Pan American Championships.
