Avi Jacob is an American singer-songwriter originally from Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
Avi was born in a Jewish family in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. His father, an historian, is the author of several books about the Holocaust. Jacob left home in his teen years to live in Boston. He spent the next several years developing skills as a songwriter and performer.[ citation needed ] While living in Boston, he was involved in the DIY music community The Whitehaus Family Record and released several amateur recordings with them. Jacob moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2010 and began to focus on his professional career in music by playing small music festivals, and being featured in music blogs and samplers. Avi is a writer of the Diana DeMuth song "All the Liars" released in 2020
He unofficially released the song Cannonball in 2014 on social media.
In December 2015, he was brought to CMJ [1] by the band Counting Crows who named him the best folk emerging superstar. He opened for Dr John [2] in February 2016.
In March 2016, Avi was featured on A&R Report as an artist to watch. [3]
Avi recorded his EP Surrender with Simone Felice (producer of the Billboard #1 Lumineers album Cleopatra) and members of the Felice Brothers.
In May 2020 Avi released a new album, "Preservation", via Bandcamp.

It was initially a side-project started by Barlow to explore different territory than that being canvassed with his primary band at the time, Sebadoh. The name is a play on the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. The band was on hiatus from 2004-2020.

Mark Erelli is an American singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and touring folk musician from Reading, Massachusetts who earned a master's degree in evolutionary biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst before pursuing a career in music. Erelli has released nine solo albums and three collaborative albums. His self-titled debut album was released in 1999, the same year that he won the Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk Award. His first recording for the Signature Sounds label, Compass & Companion, spent ten weeks in the Top Ten on the Americana Chart. Erelli has worked as a side musician for singer songwriters Lori McKenna and Josh Ritter. He has performed at various music festivals and shared the stage with John Hiatt, Dave Alvin, and Gillian Welch. Erelli's song “People Look Around”, which he co-wrote with Catie Curtis, was the Grand Prize winner at the 2005 International Songwriting Competition. Avi Wisnia is a Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter who blends bossa nova with 1950's West Coast Jazz, blues, acoustic folk and contemporary pop. Since his first performance in New York City's Caffe Vivaldi in 2005, Avi has actively recorded and performed in the United States. In 2007, he recorded his first EP, Avi Wisnia Presents. In 2009, he won the OutMusic Award for Outstanding Jazz Song of the year, for his cover of TLC's "No Scrubs". This track also appears on his 2010 full-length debut "Something New," which received praise from several New York City and Philadelphia press outlets, including Time Out New York, The L Magazine, 88.5 WXPN in Philadelphia. His September 2015 release, the digital single Sky Blue Sky was recorded via satellite between Rio de Janeiro and Philadelphia. This song was also a finalist in both the Philadelphia Songwriter's Project Songwriting Competition and in the Vocal Jazz/Blues category of the 32nd Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. Music Historian blogger Patricia Trutescu reviewed "Sky Blue Sky" and wrote that "the verses in 'Sky Blue Sky' tell a story of the musician’s vivid memories of playing music on the Brazilian Ipanema beach, hiking along the Italian Amalfi Coast, sailing in the San Francisco Bay, lounging on the rooftops of Philadelphia, and more."
