The Aviation Heritage Center of Wisconsin is an aviation museum located at Sheboygan County Memorial Airport in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin focused on aviation history in Wisconsin.
The Sheboygan County Aviation Corporation was established in 1998 by a group from EAA Chapter 766. In March 2003, it signed a 50-year lease for a plot of land at the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport and announced plans for a "Gateway to Aviation" project to build an Aviation Welcome Center & Education Facility the following year. The museum held a ribbon cutting on 18 June 2005 when construction on the 11,677 sq ft (1,084.8 m2) building was completed. However, it took another year for the exhibits to be installed before a grand opening occurred on 28 October 2006. [4] [5]
Following the start of a fundraising drive the year before, the museum dedicated an exhibit to Hmong pilots in September 2014. [6] [7]
The museum hosted an airshow for the first time in July 2016. [8]
The museum purchased a former North Central Airlines DC-3 in 2017. [9]
The museum is made up of an exhibition hall, education learning lab, library, hangar and observation areas. [10] It also includes the Kohler Conference Room, which is named for Walter J. Kohler Sr. and Walter J. Kohler, Jr., former governors of Wisconsin who used aircraft in both their public and private lives. [11] [12]
Exhibits at the museum include Wisconsin pioneers of aviation, North Central Airlines, Hmong pilots in the Vietnam War. [13] [14] [15] The museum also has a set of flight simulators. [16]
The museum hosts an annual T-28 air clinic. [22] [12] [lower-alpha 1] A Wings and Wheels event sponsored by EAA Chapter 766 also takes place every Father's Day. [25] [4]
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, or just Oshkosh, is an annual air show and gathering of aviation enthusiasts held each summer at Wittman Regional Airport and adjacent Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States. The southern part of the show grounds, as well as Camp Scholler, are located in the town of Nekimi and a base for seaplanes on Lake Winnebago is in Black Wolf.

The North American Aviation T-28 Trojan is a radial-engine military trainer aircraft manufactured by North American Aviation and used by the United States Air Force and United States Navy beginning in the 1950s. Besides its use as a trainer, the T-28 was successfully employed as a counter-insurgency aircraft, primarily during the Vietnam War. It has continued in civilian use as an aerobatics and warbird performer.

Dubuque Regional Airport is a regional airport located eight miles south of Dubuque, in Dubuque County, Iowa. On U.S. Highway 61, the airport is owned by the city of Dubuque and is operated as a department of the city government. Julie E. Clark is a retired American aerobatic air show aviator and commercial airline pilot. She started her commercial flying career with Golden West Airlines as a first officer and ended it in 2003 as a Northwest Airlines Airbus A320 Captain. She was one of the first female pilots to work for a major airline, and has been voted as "Performer of the Year" several times for her air show performances.
