Dato' Sir Onn bin Dato' Jaafar was a Malayan politician who served as the 7th Menteri Besar of Johor from 1947 to 1950, then Malaya. His organised opposition towards the creation of the Malayan Union led him to form the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) in 1946; he was UMNO's founder and its first President until his resignation in 1951. He was famously known as the pioneer of organised anti-imperialism and early Malay nationalism within the entire Malaya, which eventually culminated with the Malayan independence from Britain. Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad bin Maslan is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Minister of Finance I in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister and Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pontian since March 2008. He served as the Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Ministers Nor Mohamed Yakcop, Najib, Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, Mustapa Mohamed and Ong Ka Chuan from April 2009 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. He has also served as State Deputy Chairman of UMNO of Johor and Division Chief of UMNO of Pontian since March 2023. He also served as the Secretary-General of UMNO from March 2020 to March 2023 and also of BN from January 2021 to June 2021 as well as Division Deputy Chief of UMNO of Pontian from 2008 to his promotion to the division chief in March 2023.

Dato' Haji Hasni bin Mohammad is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Simpang Renggam since November 2022 and Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Benut since March 2008. He served as the 18th Menteri Besar of Johor from February 2020 to March 2022, Leader of the Opposition of Johor from June 2018 to February 2020, Member of the Johor State Executive Council (EXCO) from May 2013 to May 2018 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Pontian from March 2004 to March 2008 and Chairman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) from August 2022 to December 2022. He is member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He had served as the State Chairman of BN of Johor from 2018 to 2023. He also served as the State Chairman of UMNO of Johor from July 2018 to his removal from the position in January 2023 and Division Chief of UMNO of Pontian from 2001 to his defeat in the party elections in March 2023.
