Ayodele Enitan Vincent (born 18 February 1980) professionally known as Ayo Vincent, is a Nigerian gospel artist, singer-songwriter and author. [1] [2] She professionally started her music career in 2012 with the release of her debut album I Am Yours. [3]

Early life and education

Ayodele was born to Reverend Sunmbo Quashie and Felicia Bajulaiye on 18 February 1980, and grew up with her six siblings in Ojuelegba, Lagos. [3] For her secondary education, she attended Queens College Yaba, Lagos and graduated from the Lagos State University, with a B.Sc in Economics.

Music career

Ayodele started singing at the age of eight and by the time she was twelve, she joined her school’s choir, Queens College Yaba. In the University, she joined the Believers Love world Campus Fellowship and later served as the Music Director. [4] Later, she joined the Christ Embassy Choir and rose to become a Zonal Music Director. [5]

She officially started her music career in November 2012 with debut album “I Am Yours”. The album comprised 10 tracks and featured other gospel artists like Joe Praize and Florocka. [6] That same year, she released her first single “You Are Great”. In 2014, she released another single titled “Serve the Lord” featuring Don Jazzy. [7]

In 2019, she released the single “Your Presence Is Here” which later won her the LIMA Awards for Best Song of the year. [8] She has performed alongside other gospel artists like Todd Dulaney, Sinach, LeCrae, Onyeka Onwenu, Nathaniel Bassey, Ada Ehi, Mercy Chinwo and others. [9] [10] On 30 June 2023, Ayodele released an album titled "Supernatural EP". [11]

The Headies 2012 was the 7th edition of The Headies. It was hosted by M.I and Omawumi. The ceremony took place on 20 October 2012, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. The aforementioned hosts thrilled fans with their song titled "The Headies". Chidinma opened the show by performing her song "Kedike". The Okoye brothers won a total of three awards. The Artiste of the Year award went to Wizkid. Tiwa Savage and Wande Coal won the Best Male and Female Vocal Performance categories, respectively. Vector won the Best Rap Single and Lyricist on the Roll plaques for "Angeli". Davido won the Next Rated category and was later awarded a Hyundai Sonata. The Headies celebrated the reunion of prominent Nigerian musicians from the 80s and 90s, including Onyeka Onwenu, Oris Wiliki, Mike Okori, Baba Fryo, Shina Peters, Fatai Rolling Dollar and Daddy Showkey. Femi Kuti was honored with the Hall of Fame award.

Ehi's Bitters is a 2018 Nigerian film, written, produced and directed by Biodun Stephen. The story is centered around the life of a young woman, Ehisoje who is being emotionally and physically abused by her mother, who blames her for her unmarried status, which has limited her prestige as a woman. After several failed relationships, her mother finally settles for a man who sexually abuses Ehisoje, but she doesn't mind as long as she remains married. She renders Ehisoje homeless after she got pregnant for her step-father.

Ije Awele is a 2022 Nigerian drama film directed by Emeka Ojukwu and executive produced by Emeka Nwokocha. It stars Victoria Nwogu, Onyeka Onwenu, Jide-Kene Achufusi, Seun Ajayi, Keppy Ekpeyong, Ngozi Nwosu, Ejike Asiegbu and Esther Uzodinma. It is a story about an abuse survivor molested by her father, she finds out in her later years that her mother has known all the while and has been giving her contraceptives, covering up for her father in order to save the family name. This leaves her feeling betrayed, even when she finds love.

Gift Ugochukwu Christopher is a Nigerian singer, musician and gospel songwriter popularly known by his stage name MinisterGUC. He gained recognition following the release of his first album in December 2020 with the hit tracks All that matters, Desperate and Yours. He officially began his music career in 2019 after he was signed by a record label, Eezee Conceptz.

Moses Bliss Uyoh Enang, popularly known as Moses Bliss, is a Nigerian gospel singer, worship leader and songwriter. He is also the founder of "Spotlite Nation", a Nigerian record label. Moses Bliss released his first single in January 2017 titled “E No Dey Fall My Hand” and rose to prominence with his hit song “Too Faithful” which was released in June 2019. In 2020, he won the Loveworld International Music and Arts Award by Chris Oyakhilome for his song “You I Live for”.

Agaga Praise Kukeurim well known by the stage name Yadah, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and worship leader. Her official debut in the music scene was in 2017 following the release of her first single “Goodie Goodie”. She then released her first EP in 2018 titled “The Blood Covenant,” and her first album, “The Love Story,” in August 2021. She is well known for the hit songs “Beyond Me,” “Free of Charge,” “Onye Inaputara,” and “Out of Nothing.”

Emmanuel Aniefiok Iren well known as Emmanuel Iren is a Nigerian preacher and gospel songwriter. He is the Founder of Celebration Church International (CCI), headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. Judith Kanayo-Opara, better known by her stage name Judikay is a Nigerian gospel singer, worship leader and songwriter. She gained popularity for her 2019 single "More than Gold". She released her first single, "Nobody Else", in 2013 and released her debut album, Man of Galilee, in November 2019.
