Ayoni Thompson (born 1998 or 1999), known mononymously as Ayoni, is a Bajan singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. [4] [5] [6]

Early life

Ayoni was born in Barbados and moved to Miami as a young child. Throughout her childhood, Ayoni spent time living in Singapore, Jakarta and California. [2] She began singing through her church choir, and also enjoyed creative writing, piano and guitar growing up. [1]

Ayoni said she grew up listening to artists including Adele, Aretha Franklin, Bon Iver, Frank Ocean and Stevie Wonder. [7]

Career

Ayoni attended the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, studying popular music performance beginning in 2017. [2] She has cited Dijon, Lianne La Havas and Moses Sumney as musical influences. [7]

"Vision of Love" is the debut single by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey for her eponymous debut studio album (1990). It was written by Carey and Ben Margulies. After being featured on Carey's demo tape for Columbia Records, the song was re-recorded and produced by Rhett Lawrence and Narada Michael Walden. The song features a slow-dance theme tempo and backing vocals sung by Carey herself, and introduces her usage of the whistle register. Kylie and Garibay is the second extended play (EP) by musical duo Kylie and Garibay. Following Kylie Minogue's departure from her management company, Roc Nation, the three-track EP was released as a surprise on 11 September 2015 by Parlophone and her own production company, Kimberly Limited. Solely produced by Fernando Garibay, the EP served as an extension of the duo's first collaboration, Sleepwalker (2014).
