Bacon Popper

Bacon Popper was an electronic music duo best known for their 1998 dance single "Free," which was memorable in part for its lyrical refrain "you're just a bunch of freaks," and for its sample of U2's song "New Year's Day." "Free" peaked at number 43 on the Australian ARIA Charts. [1]

The duo was made up of Italian DJ and producer Paola Peroni and American vocalist Lisa Marie Simmons. [2] Bacon Popper released two singles in 1998—"Free," a major European hit, and "Rejoice in Love"—followed by an eight-track album in 1999, also called Free; later singles included "Trip to India/I Gonna Do" in 2001 and "Get Up and Party" in 2002. [3]

In the year 2009 is make the first official remix by the Italian dj/producer Stefano Mattara (Mat's Remix).

As of 2014, Peroni is still active as a producer and DJ on the European club scene. Also working under the name Miss Groovy, Peroni is a native of Brescia, Italy. [4] Simmons, a native of Boulder, Colorado, and former student of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, [5] is still based in Italy and working as a singer-songwriter. [6]

DJ Jackie Christie is an American DJ, songwriter, and music producer based in New York City. She is well known for her work at MTV's The Grind and The Limelight in New York City. She began releasing singles in 1997, originally under the alias, Shine, and her first album, Made 4 U, in 2004. The first single, "Beautiful Day," charted at #14 on the Billboard Club Chart. She also released a #1 remix of Madonna's "Nothing Falls" as well as remixes of Yoko Ono's "Open Your Box" on Mind Train Records, and Kung Pow's "R U A DJ?" on Xtreme Records. George Jackson is a DJ, remixer, and music producer who specializes in the dance music genre. After college and then a brief teaching stint, Jackson left the school system, and became the label head for Silk Entertainment. It was there that he learned the executive side of the business, as well. There was also a creative opportunity for Jackson, as he remixed Ann Nesby’s rendition of “Lovin’ Is Really My Game ”. He also assisted Hurley, on the remix of “Soul Shakedown” by Bob Marley, which was released on Koch Records (Canada) and Silk Entertainment, and then Grammy nominated for best remixed recording in 2002.
