Alumni from previous seasons of Bad Girls Club battle for a grand prize of $100,000. It takes place in a mansion located in Los Angeles. A group of bad girls will be separated into two teams and compete in two competitions, The Captain's Challenge, where the winner will be Captain of the team and will be safe for the week, and the Team's Challenge, where both teams compete and the winning team will be safe for the week. The losing team has to put up two girls for elimination. Halfway through the season, the teams will be dissolved and the remaining contestants compete in the Battle Challenge, where the battle challenge winner will be safe for the last few weeks. In the season finale, there is a final challenge where the final three are put to the ultimate test to win the prize and title.
In season 1, fourteen bad girls competed for the grand prize and title of "The Baddest Bad Girl of All Time." Production began in March 2013.
Introduced in season 2, sixteen bad girls competed through enhanced challenges, which were more extreme than last season. This season, four of the girls returned from last season. The winner won the prize and title of "The Baddest Bad Girl on the Planet." Production began in September 2013.
The Challenge is a reality competition show on MTV that is a spin-off of two of the network's reality shows, The Real World and Road Rules. Premiering in 1998, it originally featured alumni from these two shows. Casting for The Challenge has slowly expanded to include contestants who debuted on The Challenge itself, alumni from other MTV franchises including Are You the One?, Ex on the Beach, Geordie Shore, siblings and friends, and from other non-MTV shows and competitions. Starting in 2018, new contestants were chosen outside of MTV network alumni from different networks like CBS and Bravo. The contestants compete against one another in various extreme challenges to avoid elimination. The winners of the final challenge win the competition and typically share a large cash prize. The show focused on the altercations and physical confrontations of seven aggressive, quarrelsome, unruly women. They were featured on the show as "charismatic tough chicks." The cast, deemed "bad girls," enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle in a mansion for three months, during which they obeyed specified rules. Their lives inside and outside the house were recorded by a production team.
Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Sexes is the sixth season of the MTV reality game show, The Challenge. The season is directly subsequent to the first Battle of the Seasons. Battle of the Sexes featured cast members from The Real World and Road Rules. The cast stayed in the Round Hill Hotel and Villas Resort near Montego Bay, Jamaica. A casting special, Battle of the Sexes: The Good, the Bad, and the Notorious, was aired on December 30, 2002. The show premiered on January 6, 2003 and concluded on May 12, 2003.

Three "bad girls" from previous seasons of Bad Girls Club are "looking for the man of their dreams" out of thirteen eligible bachelors. Comedian Bret Ernst hosted the first season. The show was renewed for its third season which premiered December 5, 2011. Tanisha Thomas from season 2 of Bad Girls Club has hosted from season 2 onwards.
Worst Cooks in America is an American reality television series that premiered on January 3, 2010, on Food Network. The show takes 12 to 16 contestants with very poor cooking skills through a culinary boot camp, to earn a cash prize of $25,000 and a Food Network cooking set. In the celebrity edition of the show, the winning celebrity gets a $50,000 prize to donate to the charity of their choice. The recruits are trained on the various basic cooking techniques including baking, knife skills, temperature, seasoning and preparation. The final challenge is to cook a restaurant-quality, three-course meal for three food critics.

Nunn also participated on the first season of Bad Girls All-Star Battle. In 2018, she participated in the reality show Celebrity Big Brother. As of 2021, Natalie has been employed as executive producer and main cast member of the Zeus series Baddies.

At the time of its premiere, the third season was the network's highest-rated and most-watched season premiere ever. It acquired a 0.8 household rating, averaging 807,000 total viewers. Among viewers 18–49, it acquired 568,000 viewers; 405,000 viewers were women 18–49 and 337,000 were women 18–34. This would later be surpassed by future seasons.
