These are the results of the women's singles competition, one of two events for female competitors in table tennis at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
This was the first edition of tennis at the Commonwealth Games. The competition was won by top seed, Somdev Devvarman of India, who beat Greg Jones of Australia 6-4, 6-2 in the final.
This was the first ever Commonwealth tournament held, and Anastasia Rodionova of Australia, the top seed, won the gold medal by defeating India's Sania Mirza in the final. Australia's Sally Peers won the bronze medal.
The Women's singles event of badminton at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was held from 9 to 14 October 2010 in Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi, India.
Goh V Shem is a Malaysian badminton player in the doubles event. He was partnered with Tan Wee Kiong after their outstanding performance at the 2014 Thomas Cup. Together, Goh and Tan won the gold medal for the men's doubles event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as well as all their matches in the mixed team event, helping Malaysia retain the gold medal for the third consecutive time. They also won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games and the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, thus making them the second ever Malaysian men's doubles pair to win the silver medal at the Olympic Games 20 years after the feat was achieved by Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock in 1996 Atlanta. Goh and Tan are also the fourth Malaysian men's doubles pair to hold the world number 1 ranking after Cheah and Yap followed by Chan Chong Ming and Chew Choon Eng, and later on by Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong ever since official rankings were kept in the 80s.
The 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League Semifinals took place from June to July 2013. A total of 16 teams competing in 2 events were part in this round of the tournament playing for 7 berths in the Final, played between 10 and 18 January 2014 in New Delhi, India.
