China was the host of the 2008 Summer Paralympics, held in Beijing. China's delegation included 547 people, of whom 332 were competitors. The athletes, 197 men and 135 women, ranged in age from 15 to 51 and competed in all twenty sports. 226 of the competitors participated in the Paralympic Games for the first time. The delegation was the largest in Chinese history and at the 2008 Games. China topped the medal count at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens. China dominated the medal count winning the most gold, silver, bronze, and total medals by a wide margin in Beijing.
Viktor Axelsen is a Danish badminton player who is the current number one ranked men's singles player in the world. He is a two-time World Champion and reigning Olympic Champion, having won at the 2020 Olympics.
Austria was the host of the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria. With 81 athletes competing, Austria was the largest team at these Games. The host nation competed in all events except for the Figure Skating pair's event.

Lakshya Sen is an Indian badminton player. Sen is a former world junior no. 1. He has won gold medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' singles and at the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event. He won the bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships and was runner-up at the 2022 All England Open. Sen was also a part of the Indian team which won the 2022 Thomas Cup. He also won the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Lee Zii Jia is a Malaysian badminton player. He was the men's singles gold medalist at the 2019 SEA Games and won his first BWF Super 1000 title at the 2021 All England Open. Lee is the 2022 men's singles Asian champion, winning the title at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships.
Austria participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018.
The boys' singles tournament of the 2018 Badminton Asia Junior Championships was held from July 18 to 22. Leong Jun Hao from Malaysia clinched this title in the last edition. Thailand’s reigning World Junior Champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn leads the seedings this year.

Li Shifeng is a Chinese badminton player. He is the reigning All England Open men's singles champion, winning the title at 2023 All England Open.
Arnaud-Sylvain-André Merklé is a French badminton player from Staffelfelden. He was the boys singles European Junior Champion in 2018, and also part of the national junior team that clinched the mixed team title in 2017 and 2018. He participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and reached the boys' singles bronze medal match losing to Kodai Naraoka of Japan in the rubber game.
Kodai Naraoka is a Japanese badminton player affiliated with FWD Group. Born in Aomori, he started playing badminton at the age of 5 with the influence of his father. He won the silver medal at the 2023 World Championships.
The boys' singles tournament of the 2019 Badminton Asia Junior Championships will be held from 24 to 28 July. Lakshya Sen from India clinched this title in the last edition.
Ng Tze Yong is a Malaysian badminton player. Ng won a bronze medal at the 2021 Sudirman Cup. He also helped Malaysian team to win gold at the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
