Kalchas is town and union council of Dera Bugti District in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. In 2004 the government of Pakistan granted licences to oil and gas companies for exploration of the resources in this area.
Nawab Akbar Shahbaz Khan Bugti was the Tumandar (head) of the Bugti tribe of Baloch people who served as the Minister of State for Interior and Governor of Balochistan Province in Pakistan. He also became minister of state for defence in the cabinet of Feroz Khan Noon. Earlier, he also served as minister of state for interior. It was Feroz Khan Noon's regime when accession of Gwadar took place and it is propagated that Bugti was part of negotiations.
Jafarabad or Jaffarabad or Jaffar Khan Jamali district lies in the South-East of the Pakistani province of Balochistan. Jafarabad's headquarters are at Dera Allah Yar. Formerly known as the Jhatpat subdivision, the region was part of the Jacobabad District until 1970 and part of the Sibi District until 1975. It became a district of its own in 1987. Jaffarabad District is sub-divided into three tehsils. At the end of 15th century, Jaffarabad was under of Lasharis. The main tribes of this district are: Jamali, Khoso, Rind, Marri, Bugti, Bulledi, Magsi, Mengal and other communities are Gola, Umrani, lashari, Domki, Kanrani, Gajani, Siapad Brohi and small number of Soomro, bhanger, abro tribes.
Sibi is a district in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. The main mountain ranges are Zen, Bambore and Dungan. The climatic and topography of Sibi District is quite varied compared to other districts of Balochistan. It is also known as the "Hot spot" of Pakistan where the temperatures in the summer exceed 52.6 °C (126.7 °F). The Baluchistan States Union or Balochistan States Union (BSU) was an administrative division of Pakistan that existed between 3 October 1952 and 14 October 1955 in the southwestern part of West Pakistan. It was formed by the four princely states of Kalat, Kharan, Las Bela and Makran with the capital at the town of Kalat. The area of the Union was roughly the south-western half of the modern province of Balochistan. The Union was separate from the Chief Commissioners Province of Baluchistan which comprised areas to the northeast of the Union. The Union did not include the enclave of Gwadar which was part of the Muscat and Oman. The four state rulers continued in office and retained autonomy.
The Khetran are a Baloch tribe found in the northeast of the Balochistan province of Pakistan. Their area is a large hilly tract in the Sulaiman Mountains comprising the whole of Barkhan District as well as small parts of neighbouring Kohlu District to the south-west, and Musakhel District to the north. The total population is about 150,000, and at least two thirds are speakers of the Khetrani language. The Khetrans settled to the east in the Dera Ghazi Khan District of Punjab are speakers of Saraiki.
