The Band of Blue, also known as the MTSU Marching Band of Blue, is an organization on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University that puts on regular half-time shows during Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football games, as well as performances in the community and several marching band exhibitions. The band is open to all students on campus who enroll in the associated class and can demonstrate proficiency on a wind or percussion instrument and is versed in marching techniques. [1] The band has been increasing in membership in recent years, with the band reaching its largest membership in the 2011 season. It is the largest student organization on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University and is composed of students from nearly every area of the university. [2]

The station is currently owned by Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) alongside WMOT, with studios for both stations located at the John Bragg Media and Entertainment Building on campus. WMTS's transmitter is located just east of the MTSU campus. WMTS went on-air in March 1992 on cable TV Channel 38, the Housing and the Residential Life Channel.
Charles M. Murphy Athletic Center is the name of the main athletic department building at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The building opened December 11, 1972, and is named in honor of former athletics director Charles M. "Bubber" Murphy, a standout athlete at the college in the 1930s, who also served as head coach of Middle Tennessee State's football (1947–1968), basketball (1948–1949), and baseball programs.

Richard Wilson Stockstill is an American college football coach. He is the former head coach for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football program. Stockstill was a Florida State quarterback under coach Bobby Bowden from 1977 to 1981. On December 12, 2005, Stockstill was hired as the 14th head coach of the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.
The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football is the intercollegiate football program representing Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The Blue Raiders compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are a member of Conference USA. They are coached by Derek Mason, who was hired as the 15th head coach in program history on December 6, 2023.

James F. "Boots" Donnelly is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Austin Peay State University from 1977 to 1978 and at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) from 1979 to 1998, compiling a career college football coaching record of 154–94–1. Donnelly was inducted into the Blue Raider Hall of Fame in 1993! He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 2013.

The 2010 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team represented Middle Tennessee State University as a member of the Sun Belt Conference during the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Rick Stockstill, the Blue Raiders compiled an overall record 6–7 with a mark of 5–3 in conference play, placing third in the Sun Belt. Middle Tennessee was invited to the GoDaddy.com Bowl, where they lost to the Miami RedHawks, 35–21. The team played home games at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

100 Miles of Hate is the unofficial nickname given to the American college football rivalry game between the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team of Middle Tennessee State University and Western Kentucky Hilltoppers football team of Western Kentucky University. Fans began to refer to the game as "100 Miles of Hate" when the rivalry resumed in 2007 after a 16-year hiatus.
