History

The Bandung derby is perhaps one of the rare derbies in the top level of Indonesian football competition. This rivalry match brings together Persib Bandung and Persikab Bandung, both of whom represent Greater Bandung. The first meeting between the two clubs in the top competition was recorded in 1995–96 Liga Indonesia Premier Division season. However, the most memorable match was when Persikab, who was not favored, was able to beat Persib on 11 November 1999 in 1999–00 Liga Indonesia Premier Division season. At that time, Persib lost to Persikab with a narrow score of 0–1. [1] [2]

The last season that featured the Bandung derby had to end in 2002 Liga Indonesia Premier Division season, at that time Persikab Bandung had to be relegated with the status of last place. In that season they also had to lose 0–5 to Persib Bandung in their rivalry at Siliwangi Stadium, Persib Bandung's home ground. [3]
