The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Shooting at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal comprised seven events, all mixed. For the first time ever, a woman won an Olympic medal in shooting: Margaret Murdock caught the silver in the three positions event. Lanny Bassham and Murdock tied for the first place, but Murdock was placed second after review of the targets. Bassham suggested that two gold medals be given, and after this request was declined, asked Murdock to share the top step with him at the award ceremony. Women had no separate shooting events at the time and were allowed to compete with men. Murdock became the first woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting.

He did so alongside Christian Tröger, his twin brother Björn Zikarsky and Mark Pinger. He also won the bronze medal at the same event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, after swimming in the heats.
Aimo-Rhys Heilmann is a former freestyle swimmer from Germany, who won the bronze medal in the 4 × 200 m Freestyle Relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. He did so alongside Christian Keller, Christian Tröger, and Steffen Zesner. Winner of six German titles (1995-1999), Heilmann won the world title in the 4 × 100 m Freestyle at the 1997 FINA Short Course World Championships.
Barbara Pearl Jones is a retired American sprinter. She was part of the 4 × 100 m relay teams that won gold medals at the 1952 and 1960 Olympics and at the 1955 and 1959 Pan American Games. At the 1952 Olympics she became the youngest woman to win an Olympic gold medal in athletics, aged 15 years 123 days. She later became a member of the U.S. Paralympic Games Committee.

In total, seven athletes participated on behalf of the Virgin Islands in Beijing. Of those, John Jackson and Tabarie Henry progressed to a post-preliminary event, and Henry reached semifinals in his own. There were no Virgin Islander medalists at the Beijing Olympics.
Cynthia Barbara Meyer is a Canadian trap shooter who won a gold medal for Canada at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England. Meyer is also a former world championship medalist in the double trap. Meyer was on Canada's Olympic teams in 1996, 2000 and 2004. After missing out on selection for the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, Meyer was named to Canada's team for the 2016 Olympics.
Bhutan competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This marked the nation's eighth appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut in the 1984 Summer Olympics, and the first in which the nation competed in a sport other than archery. The Bhutanese delegation included archer Sherab Zam and shooter Kunzang Choden. Zam was the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Neither of Bhutan's athletes progressed beyond the first round of their events. Bhutan was one of only two countries to have a female-only team at the 2012 Games.
