Barbecue Showdown (originally titled The American Barbecue Showdown) is a reality television series filmed in Covington, Georgia that premiered on Netflix on September 18, 2020. [1] [2] On August 9, 2021, Netflix renewed the series for a second season. [3] For season 3, the series moved its filming location to Gay, Georgia.
Contestants from across the United States compete in a barbecue cook-off to be crowned the "American Barbecue Champion". At the start of each season there are 8 contestants, each of them with different levels of barbecuing experience. They have to face challenges cooking in different styles, sometimes with extra surprise challenges. There is a focus not just on the cooking aspect but maintaining the barbecue's temperature and smoking abilities. Each cooking task must be completed within a set time, often less than the time typically needed to prepare and cook the specified meal.

My Kitchen Rules is an Australian competitive cooking game show broadcast on the Seven Network since 2010. Worst Cooks in America is an American reality television series that premiered on January 3, 2010, on Food Network. The show takes 12 to 16 contestants with very poor cooking skills through a culinary boot camp, to earn a cash prize of $25,000 and a Food Network cooking set. In the celebrity edition of the show, the winning celebrity gets a $50,000 prize to donate to the charity of their choice. The recruits are trained on the various basic cooking techniques including baking, knife skills, temperature, seasoning and preparation. The final challenge is to cook a restaurant-quality, three-course meal for three food critics.

Ink Master is an American reality competition television series that originally aired on Paramount Network, now airing on the Paramount+ Streaming service and 24/7 on the Pluto app which has a channel dedicated entirely to the show. The first season originally premiered on January 17, 2012. The show is hosted by Dave Navarro who joins Chris Nunez and Oliver Peck to make up a panel of judges that decides which contestants get to continue in the competition and which go home, ultimately deciding the winner at the end. The Big Family Cooking Showdown, often referred to as simply Cooking Showdown or BFCS, is a BBC team cooking competition. The first season was hosted by Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain and Zoe Ball. Each week, two teams of three family members competed in three challenges, judged by Michelin starred chef Giorgio Locatelli and cookery teacher Rosemary Shrager. The winners in each of eight heats moved on to the semi-finals, consisting of three episodes. The three semi-final winners then progressed to the final episode where the winning family was selected. The Big Family Cooking Showdown premiered on BBC Two on Tuesday, 15 August 2017, then moved to Thursday evenings on 31 August to avoid a scheduling conflict with The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4.

It features twelve international teams of two professional chefs each competing to create elevated dishes based on the country chosen for each episode. The first round is judged by a three-person panel—a food critic, and two culturally significant citizens, all representing the episode's country—assessing each team's interpretation of their chosen nationally significant dish. Interspersed among the cooking activities are video packages featuring the culinary biographies of the contestants.

It is based on the original British TV series of the same name.
