Barry Brown (born December 17, 1952), is a Canadian country music artist and songwriter. Brown, a former member of Family Brown and Prescott-Brown. Both bands included his sister, singer Tracey Brown.

Biography

Brown began performing as a member of Canada's most awarded country band, Family Brown. Following the band's disbanding, Brown went on to form Juno Award winning group Prescott-Brown with his sister Tracey and brother-in-law Randall Prescott. [1]

Brown won the Canadian Country Music Association award for SOCAN Song of the Year in 1989 ("Trail of Tears"), [2] 1990 ("Pioneers") [3] and 1994 ("I'm Gonna Drive You Out of My Mind"). [4] Brown has written numerous songs for various country artists.

The trio made appearances on shows such as The Tommy Hunter Show, The Dini Petty Show, Rita and Friends, Open Mike with Mike Bullard and Adrienne Clarkson Presents.

Tracey Brown is a Canadian country music artist. Brown, a former member of Family Brown, was nominated for a 1999 Juno Award for Best Country Female Vocalist. Her first solo studio album, Woman's Work, was released in 1998 and produced a Top 20 single with the title track.

Family Brown was a Canadian country music band founded in 1967 by Joe Brown, along with his son Barry and daughters Lawanda and Tracey (vocals), as well as Dave Dennison (guitar) and Ron Sparling (drums). Between 1967 and 1990, the band charted several singles in both Canada and the United States. The band also won eighteen Canadian Country Music Association awards, the most received by any artist. After disbanding in 1990, Barry and Tracey Brown and Randall Prescott formed the group Prescott-Brown in 1991.

26 Cents 1998 single by The Wilkinsons

"26 Cents", also written as "26¢", is the debut song of the Canadian country music group The Wilkinsons. Written by group member Steve Wilkinson along with William Wallace, it was released in June 1998 as the first single from their album Nothing but Love.
