Khewra is the second most populated city of Jhelum and the neighbor city of Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil in Jhelum District, Punjab province, Pakistan. It is located at 32°38'60N 73°1'0E. The city is administratively subdivided into two union councils and is the location of the Khewra Salt Mine. The population of Khewra city is about 35,000.
The French submarine Rubis was a Saphir-class minelaying submarine which first served in the French submarine pavilion, then the Free French Naval Forces (FNFL) during the Second World War and back with the French Navy. The boat was awarded numerous awards.
