Basil William Iwanyk (born January 4, 1970) is an American film producer. He is the founder of Thunder Road Films and most known for the films Sicario , The Town , Greenland and the John Wick franchise. His films have earned more than $2 billion internationally as of 2018. [1] He is of Ukrainian descent. [2]

After starting out working for Warner Bros in the 1990s, Basil founded the film production company Thunder Road in 2000. [3]

Biography

Iwanyk grew up in New Jersey. [4] Iwanyk worked for Warner Bros in the 1990s before founding Thunder Road. Iwanyk was on the production team for the films Sicario and Wind River, both of which were written by Taylor Sheridan, who also directed Wind River and later became the show-runner of the TV show Yellowstone. Basil is also named as a producer for movies in the John Wick franchise. [5]

John Wick Presents: Ballerina is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Len Wiseman, from a script written by Shay Hatten, Michael Finch, and Emerald Fennell, based on an original story by Hatten. It is the first spin-off, and fifth installment overall in the John Wick franchise. It is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023). Expend4bles is a 2023 American action film that is the fourth installment in The Expendables franchise, following The Expendables 3 (2014). The film follows a skilled Special Forces officer who takes ownership of her grandfather's bar shortly after he dies, and soon finds herself at odds with the violent gang running rampant in her hometown.
