Hideto Matsumoto, also known as hide, was a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. He was the lead guitarist of the rock band X Japan from 1987 to 1997 and a solo artist from 1993 onward. He also formed the United States-based rock supergroup Zilch in 1996.
Jun Onose, better known by his stage name J, is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as bassist and co-founder of the rock band Luna Sea since 1986. After they disbanded in 2000 he focused on his solo career, for which he performs lead vocals and bass. He rejoined Luna Sea when they reunited in August 2010.
Dahlia is the fifth studio album by Japanese heavy metal band X Japan, released on November 4, 1996 by Atlantic Records. It is the band's last album before breaking up the following year, and the last to feature new work by guitarist hide, due to his death two years later. The album is composed largely of ballads, with only a few tracks retaining the band's heavier musical traits seen on previous releases. It topped the Oricon chart and stayed on the chart for only 15 weeks, but managed to sell over half a million copies. Seven, nearly all, of the album's songs were released as singles, most of which also topped the singles chart and sold well.
3.2.1. is the debut album by the rock band Zilch, released on July 23, 1998. It is their only work with original frontman hide, due to his death two months before its release. The album reached number 2 on the Oricon chart, was the 54 best-selling album of the year, and was certified Double Platinum by the RIAJ for sales over 800,000.
Neo Sound Best is the first compilation album from the Japanese rock band UVERworld released on 9 December 2009 under gr8! records label. The album was released to celebrate 5th anniversary of their debut. The album consists of all released singles and selected tracks from studio albums, all tracks went through remastering. The first press version includes DVD disc with live performances.
Last is the 5th full album released by Japanese band Uverworld as well as the follow-up to their fourth album, Awakeve. It was released on April 14, 2010 under gr8! records label. A limited pressing of the album was also released on the same day which includes a DVD containing music videos of 99/100 Damashi no Tetsu (99/100騙しの哲?), Go-On and Kanashimi wa Kitto (哀しみはきっと?) as well as a video of the filming process for their 3 music videos and a bonus clip "Special Track 09.12.25: Turn Around with Gold" which is a Gold special video.
Angel of Salvation is the eighth studio album by the Japanese power metal/neo-classical metal band Galneryus, released on October 10, 2012. The 10-song album featured two songs from the single "Hunting For Your Dream": the titular song and "Temptation Through the Night", the latter which was featured as a "work in progress" version. The full album version of the title track "Angel of Salvation", which interpolates "Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, is Galneryus' longest song to date at 14 minutes and 42 seconds long; twice as long as the song's music video. The song is also the first to feature a guest vocalist in a studio album by Galneryus in Akane Liv from the band LIV MOON. For the album and tour, Syu switched from a Hughes and Kettner amplifier to a Diezel Hagen amplifier and cabinet. This was also shown in the "Angel of Salvation" music video. Syu reverted to his ESP Crying Star Rebel signature guitar for the "Under the Promised Flag Tour" with modifications to the humbuckers. "Hunting for Your Dream" was used as the second closing theme for the new Hunter × Hunter anime adaptation.
Winter Games is the eighth Japanese single by the South Korean boy band 2PM. It was released on October 16, 2013 in three different editions. The single also includes Stay Here as B-side track, which was supposed to be included in Masquerade.
